Requesting an update from the Downtown Seattle Association about the role of Seattle's Jumpstart tax in these soft layoffs.
Even though my budget for track days this year got wiped out by the cost of fuel, I've still managed to save thousands by riding an ebike and taking public transit. And it can be faster than driving in some cases as there is no traffic or need to find parking.
Riding an e-bike, buying an electric vehicle, taking public transit, or finding a work-from-home job could save you lots of money on your monthly diesel bill.

It appears Pollet is circulating a survey asking the public what should be done with these funds and encouraging then to be used for police. lp.constantcontactpages.com/sv/mUibjE0/p...
Why is Gerry Pollet saying the $50 million in Move Ahead Washington funds designated to improve the roadway design of Aurora Ave in Seattle can be used to build a new police sub station? youtu.be/ZQuOh5vw0G0?...
These funds are absolutely not intended to be used to build a new police station nor pay any law enforcement. The intent has been clear from the beginning. www.theurbanist.org/aurora-avenu...

The PDC just handed more influence to rich and powerful special interests with nearly no warning. Control of the state Supreme Court is on the line. Initiatives attacking fundamental rights are on the ballot. This is a travesty.
My phone was blowing up over this last night. (Progressives are pissed!) One potential outcome could be lots more last-minute money pouring into local independent expenditure campaigns, since the $7,500 limit no longer applies.
Another shooting last night just a few blocks away from the last shooting. Stray bullets went into homes. 80 more shell casings brings the total up to over 200 shots fired in 2 days.
Over 100 shell casings found. komonews.com/news/local/s...
There is no law that says we can't do this every day or at least every weekend. It's like 50 degrees and people are outside. Even if you live in Carnation you can still enjoy the fiesta without parking in it.
Now thats a destination worth traveling for! Some day well be hosting public events this crowded on our end of Pike!

It's not just Seattle demanding transformational change on SR 99.
Last week I had my second walking tour of Highway 99 hosted by @snotrac.bsky.social and @transpochoices.bsky.social Anyone who’s spent time on Highway 99 knows: it needs some TLC - and not a little. A lot. It's unsafe, it's unwelcoming, and it's a problem bigger than any one city can tackle.

Nilu has been running an honest, principled, smart campaign to be the partner and voice for all of North Seattle. Let’s elect Nilu and get some good things done!
I'm Nilu Jenks, and I'm running because blue cities need to show they can govern. North Seattle has been left behind, and the people of D5 deserve as much attention, programming, and resources as the rest of the city. I’ll work hard everyday to change that, and I would be honored to earn your vote.
Tomorrow is día de muertos at Pike Place Market. I hope to see you all there for lucha libre. www.pikeplacemarket.org/events-calen...

If you don't have time to do anything else, send this letter so that there's a record of support to offset the historic boards. admin.actionnetwork.org/letters/safety-first-means-giving-sdot-the-ability-to-act
Update: I was wrong, there will be a special council meeting on Monday to approve Saka's traffic safety bill and Bob Kettle will be putting forward an amendment to strip out the historic district provisions. Someone tipped off the preservation folks about this so they had more time to organize.
"passed too close" is another way to say he intentionally tried to kill people by running them over.
This guy was caught on video committing one of the worst road rage incidents I've ever seen, plowing into a group of riders—and then he left the scene. Seriously, fuck the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for framing him as some sort of a victim. You are complicit assholes. www.ajc.com/news/2026/10...

Thank you to everyone who made The Car-Free University Way a success! It was amazing to see families return to a space that was now welcoming for them. We are far from done. We intend to work with the UW student body, U District residents, businesses, and the entire community to make this real.
Someday, we’ll have streets like this in every neighborhood in Seattle and ask ourselves why it took so long.

Bob Kettle grows weaker every time a Starbucks closes and is replaced by a local small business.
He's heavily implying he saw underage sex trafficking victims in an RV when he was on a ridealong with with CARE. Um. If that happened, they could absolutely have called the police. He's moved on to mourning an unnamed business on Leary that closed after nine months.
Anytime this guy is mentioned, remember that his company makes and sells ecoblocks to other businesses on the cheap (~$20/each) to illegally put in the right of way to displace homeless people. He's also responsible for the last 30 years of preventing the missing link of the Burke-Gilman trail.
Another longtime business guy, Eugene Wasserman, praises Strauss for addressing the RVs he has seen in Ballard for years, and says they could fund more shelter to help. "A really creative approach to this problem."
Julia Reed is the best and we are all lucky to have her representing us.
EXCLUSIVE: an email exchange that took place this month between Representative Julia Reed and Acting SDOT Director Angela Brady brings frustrations around the city's slow progress planning a street overhaul on Aurora Ave N fully out in the open. www.theurbanist.org/state-lawmak...
Seattle has multiple CCTV cameras (contracted by Axon) at the location where this hit and run occurred. According to the article, police are still seeking the public's assistance for information about the vehicle and driver. It has been 20 days since the crime was committed next to multiple cameras.
Update: This person died today from injuries they sustained from this hit and run
