Pendulum swinging back towards minimalist design as I consider motivating behaviors by just giving the player an extra die if they're a good girl/good boy.

ai makes a lot more sense when you've seen society hogging out on regurgitated reboots remakes and reimaginings for decades. Of course they think that's what we want- we've given them zero signs to the contrary.

Finally getting around to Delicious in Dungeon and uh is it a good idea for the entire party to roll Cleaver? Dang if this doesn't remind me of my earliest D&D experiences though, green slime from the ceiling, incongruous dungeon biomes...

Without a Cleaver or Witch, the game becomes much less focused on the Heart Itself, which is a pretty neat trick of design where the selected character playbooks will completely reshape the experience. Instrumental in getting me to think of design as setting specific rather than universal, too.)

Ironically in nearly 40 years of gaming I don't know if I've ever seen a dragon in Dungeons and Dragons, tho. If I did I don't remember, which seems... less than ideal.

(Cleaver is a delver type in Heart whose whole deal is gaining power from eating pretty much whatever they come across, including things they really, really, shouldn't. It is noteworthy that in my run of Heart the delvers were a Deadwalker, a Deep Apiarist, a Hound, and a Junk Mage.

Under communism you would have to share your toothbrush. Fortunately we live under capitalism, which allows the consumer the choice of whether they subscribe to BrushMe, iDent, or PurlyWites. You can even upgrade to a premium account for access to additional content such as toothpaste or water.

Sure Freddy isn't real and can't hurt me, I'm just not sleepy. Fun Fact: the night before I saw my first Nightmare (3: Dream Warriors) I had a Freddy nightmare. I did not know I was going to be watching one the next day, but he was definitely in the zeitgeist even in small town MN.

Yeah I think New Nightmare may be a bit too heavy and like is maybe a seminal work of elevated horror? In any case don't think I can stick with it at this particular moment in time.

Ok I lied and it immediately shifted back into regular ole horror, though that being said I do not remember this being such a mindfuck when I first watched it and it may be a memetic demon in its own right.

China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend. By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago. www.cartoonbrew.com/box-office-r...

I get the complaints about fixed cameras in video games, but the sequence leading up to the first licker encounter in RE2 was what made me first realize games could be art.

Transphobia is fascism, so if you're saying we need to vote for a transphobic candidate to fight fascism I have some pretty explicit ideas as to what I think you ought to do with the rest of your life.

Anti-trans Democrats are spreading poison when we can least afford it, during elections in this ongoing fascist takeover. As a strategy, it’s a recipe for failure. As a moral stand, it’s reprehensible. PS I’m the father of young trans woman and I’ll never forgive anyone who makes her life harder.

The thing I funded three years ago, the thing I funded three months ago, and the thing I funded three days ago all walk into a bar. They look over at me and say "hey, let's roll that guy tonight."

Reassessing while seeing all the teens where "asserting their own individuality" is definitely the driving goal wearing costumes from things that were old since before they were born.

Went down to the ole Spirit Halloween and there's all these children's costumes for properties that were new when I was a kid and um.... are parents just dressing their kids up in stuff -they- liked? Freddie, Jason, and Michael I get but Are Beetlejuice and Saw big draws for the kiddie set?

Ok first of all fuck those mailers but if the attacks the Repub op are making are all things that a lifelong Dem voter AGREES with... Utter political malpractice by Klobuchar here

I AM on the fence, but ironically the stench of rat is pushing me back towards harm reduction. I doubt everyone else (even most) are going to run the same peculiar mental calculus.

Re: my last repost- Maaaaaan, I wish I'd been hashtagging my stuff instead of just going "whatever, searching the term without the hash will still find it again"

yeh tbh if AI is so great you should be proud of it, you should disclose it everywhere and put a bunch of stickers yourself that you used it for your project showing everyone how cool and cutting edge you are, no? like, it's the future right? you love it right??

I need to break out of the mindset of the D&D "forever campaign" (particularly ironic with how rapidly D&D campaigns tend to implode). Even with things moving at a fairly rapid clip, my Heart game still ran for well over a year and that is just Too Much Time, nevermind the commitment levels required

Why set your story at the most interesting time of the characters' lives when you can insteadset it when they're faffing about with 2 hp and the main villain won't even be introduced for three months?

It has certainly helped that I have one player who would send me three volumes of backstory given half the chance being counterbalanced by two players that are chaos gremlins, which I suppose serves as an example of how player composition is as or more important than party composition.

Didn't get pictures but ICE just staged parked across handicapped parking north side of Georgia parking at MOA. There's a Hmong fashion show at MOA today.

Ah yes, the annual tradition of looking up if Evil Dead did in fact predate NoES and that Craven wasn't just using like an advance screener copy or something.

I love when horror movies drop other horror movies. Shows that they are on dialog with each other. Carpenter does this a fair amount- House on Haunted Hill and The Thing From Another World in Halloween, Robot Monster in ItMoM. The Fog is like 30% The Crawling Eye references.
