Your regular reminder: If the Russians stop fighting, the war ends. If the Ukrainians stop fighting, their land will be occupied, their leaders will be killed, their history and language will be erased, their children will be kidnapped to serve Russia.

A handful of Republicans could end all of this. And there are quite a few who hate this war, masked terrorists in our cities, flouting of Congress, corruption, etc. But unless they prove otherwise they’re all cowards.

The Darwin Awards just keep getting more and more competitive.

Elon posted this yesterday. Just for fun I did it with my before/after cancer PET scans that I had already posted online. In the "before" scan Grok missed the massive tumor lighting up my liver, and in both scans it flagged a non-existent "area of concern" in my chest. Other than that, works great!

We'll fight, not out of spite For someone must stand up for what's right 'Cause where there's a man who has no voice There ours shall go singing My hands are small, I know But they're not yours, they are my own But they're not yours, they are my own and I am never broken

It appears that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has, within the past week, scrubbed a large amount of climate change content from its official website, as well as *removed human-caused warming* from the discussion on its "causes of climate change" page.

Google image searches have been… less than useful, so I’d not used it in a while. I saw this cheesy AI image supposedly of Stephen Hillenburg, drawing SpongeBob, along with an ‘inspirational biography.’ Just curious, I tried a search, and, Oh my!😳 I took a screenshot of the results…

As tech firms keep adding the largest and most compute-intensive AI models into more and more aspects of our digital lives, they are increasingly dependent on a growing share of existing energy and natural resources, leading to rising costs for everyone else, write Sasha Luccioni and Yacine Jernite.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this. Smashed records. Curtesy of Garrett Roberts.

Not everyone can fight Trumpism and Trumpists directly. But remember this: kindness, decency, and fidelity to American values are defiance in the face of Trumpism. So be kind, decent, and faithful, particularly to the many kinds of people despised and attacked by Trumpists. That’s revolutionary./1

NEW: Extraordinary drone footage from Pacific Palisades in LA showing hundreds of homes burned to the ground. The death toll has now risen to five and damage is already estimated at over $50 billion. This is likely to be the costliest fire in US history. (📸 Kit Karsten)

My Christmas tradition is screaming out loud at the scene in The Muppet Christmas Carol when the Marley brothers show up. Somehow, not everyone remembers this is my tradition, which only makes it a better tradition. One or two of my kids might not speak to me until Christmas.
