The First Immutable Law of Security: If Israel can convince your website to serve their ad, it's no longer your computer. It now belongs to Netanyahu. It's revelations like these that make me keep my dns-level ad-blocker active. I prefer my PC to not be a pawn in a Likud-instigated genocide

The important thing to remember here is that in the early days of personal computing, lots of software was widely and freely exchanged. Microsoft hated this and worked hard to shift both culture and law against free software but they could never quite kill it totally dead.

Holy shit. Someone has decompiled the Adobe suite, rebuilt it in Rust and released it as open source. Either all software is dead or the US copyright laws are about to receive an update. getartcraft.com/apps

Really bad idea for Labour to call an early general election with these polling numbers. They'll lose their majority at least.

Election Maps UK@electionmaps.uk

General Election Nowcast - 11/10/26: LAB: 299 (-112) | 27.2% (27 Short) RFM: 100 (+95) | 23.1% CON: 95 (-26) | 19.6% LDM: 70 (-2) | 9.8% SNP: 43 (+34) | 2.7% PLC: 8 (+4) | 1.1% GRN: 7 (+3) | 9.6% RES: 1 (+1) | 3.8% Oth: 8 (+3) | 3.1% electionmaps.uk/nowcast

Then again, from the Daily Mail headlines, it's not actually labour advisers calling for an early general election, but Kemi Badenoch. An early election will be even worse for the Conservatives (losing half their seats).

If do, this could be Zelenskyy's biggest and most politically significant strike yet.

Unintended consequences. According to cloudfare, the targeting of Yandex data centres by Ukraine has resulted in a massive drop in russian bots. Could this have an impact on the American mid term elections?

Where's the media outrage? The entire media machine and half the UK government was out to lynch my beautiful partner for a single bluesky post.

I'd say cite them all for the offence of assisting an offender. That, and perverting the course of justice.

NEW: Far-right activists are mobilising in Basingstoke following the arrest of Daniel Thomas, aka Danny Tommo. Thomas was arrested after a video appeared to show him slashing a dinghy in the Channel while an emergency responder was still on board. Here’s what we know. 🧵

Because of Youtube's introduction of "engaged views", its homepage now be like:

Podcast Host Lab@podcasthostlab.bsky.social

Since Aug 24, YouTube counts a view from the first frame, autoplay included. The old, stricter count is now "engaged views," and three podcast ad agencies say that's all they'll buy on. If your video podcast views jumped, this is why. podnews.net/update/engag...

Apparently, I'm supposed to feel sympathy for an exploding factory serving Moscow. Imagine if instead of Wildberries, this was an Amazon Warehouse on fire. Thousands of Amazon workers now can't work their shifts, can't earn the money they need to live. How remorseful would that make you be? Me:

One day, I suppose I'll run out of hormones to boil my blood, which boils every time I read something new about the lies regarding the MMR vaccine (a proven lie, from a disgraced fraudster who abused his credentials to push his snake oil scam). Today's not that day.

Guardian US@us.theguardian.com

There’s no evidence that vaccines cause autism, or that we should separate MMR shots. This order is dangerous

This form of wage theft has started to happen more frequently in the games industry, firing the devs to reap their bonuses. Ever since Activision set the precedent in MW2, Krafton opened the floodgates with subnautica 2. EA's done the same with Battlefield 6, as has Delphi with netflix world cup.

My gut feeling is that these Reform voters are convinced the £5m scandal is The Establishment trying to fit their guy up and so they're socking it to The Man by behaving like this. That their guy IS The Man will forever be beyond them.

Mark Chadbourn@chadbourn.bsky.social

More evidence that Reform voters are not like other people in the UK. Show them some potential corruption and they’re all in.

These Ukrainian attacks on Russian Wildberries warehouses may look great for Ukrainian propaganda, but it does raise questions about the legitimacy of destroying such warehouses and whether they count as a war crime.

Wildberries in Penza… WOW 😎🔥

My view: as manufacturers and suppliers of military drones and other hardware. It takes all my mental capacity to muster enough sympathy for the destruction of a [Russian] Amazon Warehouse. Then I remember they create kill drones in those warehouses... Bomb'em to hell Ukraine. (oh right)

Nature respects no national borders and only discriminates land by flammable vs non-flammable. Thanks to the heatwave of 2026, Europe's wildfires are <9 miles away from Bordeaux. Is that proposal of naming heatwaves after the fossil fuel companies responsible, still going ahead?

Why are Reform reporting the Green Party Leader over the post? If their alarm is with the guy in an offensive top, report the guy in the top, not the party. The guy is the one wearing the "menacing message" top. Trying to pin this on Polanski is akin to shooting the messenger.

Biased BBC reporting exhibit UZ These two articles appear adjacently on the BBC homepage. Both relate to CTP operations- one Ann Widdecombe's killing, the other a plot to attack a Suffolk Islamic event Guess which one's called "alleged terror" (as though BBC don't believe far-right terror exists)

FIFA's seeding system has worked. The four top teams in the FIFA rankings have all reached the world cup semi-finals. France and England had better hope it stops working in the semis or they (as the 3rd/4th ranked teams) will be out.

Welcome to the latest consequence of the climate emergency: British wildfires. Barely a week after the wildfires of Spain (+ France, Greece, Italy, Portugal), which are already bigger than last year's record-setting fires. The wildfires are creeping north.

An extreme wildfire risk is in place across London this weekend. Please follow London Fire Brigade advice: ❌ No disposable BBQs in parks & open spaces 🚬 Dispose of cigarettes carefully 🗑️ Take rubbish home if bins are full Together we can help the London Fire Brigade save lives.

The worst part about the Farage crypto bung story is how his cryptobillionaire funder, George Cottrell, is seeking a pardon from Trump for his 2017 money-laundering conviction. A presidential pardon for corruption, all so he can SLAPP every journalist who called him a wire-fraudster.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social feels like the ultimate revenge of the Labour Left who never forgave the rest of the party for abandoning Corbynism and being more pragmatic in order to win voters. Their obsession with an ideological purity the public rejected has probably just handed Farage the keys to #10.

It is inescapable now that many politicians & most of our media judge the severity & seriousness of a crime differently according to the ethnicity of the perpetrator and/or victim. An utterly hideous state of affairs ushered in eagerly by Nigel Farage & Elon Musk. It is very easy to do better.

Dorian Lynskey@dorianlynskey.bsky.social

Comparing coverage of the Belfast and Edinburgh attacks, it seems that if politicians politicise and racialise a crime, then it will get far more attention than a crime that is in itself political and racist but doesn’t serve a political agenda. That’s not a good message

And in case you still think that Harman was a supporter of the Paedophile Information Exchange...👇

Chris Rivers@chrisrivers50.bsky.social

It’s not true. It’s a 2014 Daily Mail lie. From 1978 to 1982 Harman was legal officer at NCCL, predecessor of Liberty. The Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) was granted affiliate status with NCCL in 1975. BEFORE Harman. Hence: “I'm not going to apologise. I've got nothing to apologise for"
