one gripe i have with the critics, though, is definitely ppl going "oh no, absolutely *no documentary* has ever looked this good" and im like 95% sure that the only documentaries they've ever watched were on netflix—and they are fun, but bro, documentaries that feel like movies have always existed

and like, there was nothing offensive in what i was translating!! no stickers on my computer!! i wasn't wearing any kind of specific shirt either!!! i guess i just exude a vibe of "Girl Who Needs Jesus". and honestly? nice. im wild. im untamed. who's jesus? i dont know the guy. does he like rugby?

at last, i find "english" in the immensely long list. and, ah. at last, i understand. it's a website about how you shouldn't despair, because you can find jesus, no matter what happens. this lady who i had never, ever met, saw me working in a café, and thought "that girl needs jesus in her life"

the cafe im in is pretty empty, save for two korean ladies chatting nearby while i'm translating some stuff on the side/working. i dont know a single word of korean—so im just listening to my music or smth, no clue what they're chatting about

but as they get up to leave, one of the ladies walks up to me and, with a big smile, offers me a business card. it's all in korean, so i obviously can't read it, and she doesn't speak a word of english. so she points at a link written on the card, like, "cmon, look it up!"

so yeah I was hanging out in a cafe near busan, iirc. just chilling, i wanted to go by the sea but i had some work to do. at the time i was a manager for the french project of bilibili comics—which is a whole story in itself but no time for it here

anyway at that time, things were very difficult and stressful, so yeah. i wanted to chill and relax, so i went by the beach. it was like, october, so the temperatures were kinda low, it was cloudy—a fucking awesome day to be at the beach but first i had a bit of work to finish

so yeah for those who don't know south korea is insanely catholic. they love jesus, there. you have churches everywhere and jesus is painted on walls next to graffitis—it is the biggest religion me? im a white european but i was raised atheist, so im kinda unaware of most Christian Things

Being auntie means that the groupchat with my sister and my mom looks like this most of the time and honestly? In those dark times it always brings me a smile so I cherish those moments (eng translation in alt)

no choice bc work is super low right now, im back to the mine annotating AI stuff and this time it's mostly comparing pictures or videos to prompts and it actually warms my heart because wow, AI is really really REALLY bad at understanding even the clearest prompt, holy shit is THAT the future??
