Dear Chicago, dear USA: You don't need hundreds or thousands, you need hundreds OF thousands, if you want to effect change. Here's a photo of how we did it in Romania. I'm proud to have been a part of it.

when I'm done with this project, I'm gonna move to the woods to live in a hole in the ground for 2 weeks, with nothing but a folding knife and a book on distributed data structures

So apparently the moron in chief just stopped his 9th war already (and presumably prevented WW3). If that's not worth another FIFA peace prize, I don't know what is.

Maybe just maybe, next time you se someone in uniform, instead of saying "thank you for your service", you could ask them how many kids they blew up in the name of oil dominance.

Too many of you post frequently about DJT, and his latest antics. So I'll go on record to say this: Trump is the best president in the history of the US. Because the job of the president is not to wield power; it is to distract attention away from it. 1/

Every time you rant online about what this cabinet does, you take away energy from organising your local community. Try this next time someone mentions a truth.social shitpost, say: 1. "trump is a pedo" 2. "Now let's organize that community garden/youth after-school/co-op/senior center" 2/

Voting has never helped you, and probably never will. You've had dems in power before, were you better off? I'm not saying Don't vote! I'm just saying Stop waiting for the random elected official to fix your problems. Canvas if you must; but make sure your local teens can access a sports center.

I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

If you are one of the almost 100 Dems who voted to honor the guy who said the Civil Rights Act was a huge mistake, don’t bother asking Black people to vote for you, donate to you or canvass for you next year. Don’t bother. Please. And don’t be shocked if you get a primary opponent.

The DNC is now struggling to find a way to emulate the energy that Mamsani generated, but obviously without changing anything about themselves, and without affecting their donors' interests. 2/3

They are, without a doubt, more despicable than the republicans. Those are like wolves, you can't blame them too much for eating sheep. But for the democrats, I have nothing but contempt. 3/3

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders? Almost all of the bugs and problems and breakage in the software you use is known to the engineers, we just aren't allowed to fix it. Gotta ship new features.

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders? The number of parents that don't care much about their kids and/or have very thinly veiled resentment against them is much higher than most people think.

It’s wild watching people lecture others for joking or posting book recs during U.S. unrest - when they scrolled right past Syria, Haiti, and Sudan without a whisper. I'm just saying, American exceptionalism is a helluva drug.

Revolutionary tech from China: exists. Western consumers: b..b..but data privacy?! Western company: you get 30¢ off a gallon of milk in exchange for the soul of your first born son Western consumers: where do I sign?

There's a non-zero chance that musk will sue anyone claiming he didn't invent Xchan by writing 80%+ of the code by himself, and that NSA resources will be used in the process. Of course, he'll do all that by remaining the free speech champion that he always was. If that's not funny, nothing is.
