Look, I know all the reasons we got here, but we really need to start seriously thinking about what we do in a world where The Markets punish whole countries for voting for decency, compassion, and fairness. We must stop pretending the capitalist machine is an objective, value neutral force.
Hey remember a couple months ago when I almost died from sleep apnea and begged y'all to be checked if you have symptoms of sleep apnea?
Eric Bauza just died from sleep apnea. We were the same age. Don't ignore sleep apnea.
Do you get a full night's sleep but wake up feeling like death? Does your whole body feel off in ways you can't explain?
Research signs of Sleep Apnea. Get a sleep test. You can't diagnose it yourself, cuz you sleepin'.
MY HEAD IS GOING TO EXPLODE. READ ANY HISTORY BOOK FROM THE LAST 20 YEARS.
(History books from earlier will still talk about the Golden Age, because there’s no way not to, but they’ll downplay it).
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."
“You know what Northern Europeans don’t do, is they don’t build factories. Never have! Only China ever came up with that idea.” That’s what he sounds like.
China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend.
By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago.

While pundits on national television applauded Lorne Doerkson for running a campaign supposedly laser-focused on the economy, it appears white nationalists were paying attention when his campaign manager posted "fuck Islam" and when his relentlessly attacked Indigenous rights.
Total media failure.
I think this must be true for everything. I spend more time than I should looking at AI comics. They have so much going on in the backgrounds. Much more than any artist would be willing to draw by hand. But also, a real artist would know that all those extra backgrounds are a waste of time.
They’re distracting. They’re unnecessary. They have no focal point and don’t contribute to the world-building or the storytelling. Often it would be better to have no background in a given panel at all. But they LOOK like a lot of extra work, so prompters mistake them for good.
Here lies JD. He drew as many comics as he could. reposted
Omg no, he was so young. Damn. He was such a talented voice actor. It’s on the mind because I literally just watched it yesterday, but he got asked to do the taken monologue as porky pig and its a masterpiece
We won not only against Bolsonaro, but against the full force of the USian's Big Techs, Meta, CIA, Trump, the Brazilian right-wing elites, the billionaires' press and more.
one day canada will have ranked choice voting and this stupid fucking non-democratic garbage that are our federal and provincial elections will never fucking happen again #political

Update: Attack the Block is not in fact a dumb movie, and is quite good. John Boyega and Jodie Whittaker fighting aliens in South London? Exactly what I needed. ACAB includes them aliens, bruv.
I’m sure a lot of people are going to blame the Greens for splitting the vote. That’s me. I did that. I (and about 1000 other people in my riding) voted Green and the Conservatives won. But I refuse to regret this. I had an obligation to vote for the woman who said she’d make my workplace better.
I’m not a member of the Green Party. My vote was David Eby’s to lose. Congratulations to the Green candidate in my riding for getting the most votes she’s ever won. And to no one else.
The show became a success because of the crew involved and they get rewarded by all being fired/not renewed as production moves to Canada, where Canadians get cursed by being paid dirt and being yelled at to deliver the same quality for less money and most likely less time.
‘The Loud House’ received a last-minute renewal, Jessica Borutski, the show’s head director since Season 4, confirmed on a recent podcast.
Production has moved from the U.S. to Canada, with the entire production crew replaced while the voice cast remains.
Looking back at all the posts I've written for my Ko-Fi, and there's some good stuff here. More people should sign up for these. Here's one about what a sequel to A Mad Tea-Party might have looked like. ko-fi.com/post/A-Mad-T... It's like Bluesky, but a lot more thought put in and only once a month.
You can pay me $5 a month to get all of these including the locked posts, or you can pay me nothing and RSS it to still read it. Eventually I'll have put everything I know about comics and storytelling on this page, and it'd be a shame if only 5 people see it.
Also, if more people pay me at the existing tier, I have some ideas of new things I could do with Ko-Fi. Like a zine club, maybe. But I need to know there's interest.
Please vote. Vote for who you want in YOUR riding. This election is gonna be a weird one with the very rapid party realignment that happened, and I’m not sure what to make of even the province-level polls, but I am worried about the outcome. Vote your conscience, vote strategically, just vote.
Only the parties have access to riding-level polling data (I’m not sure how good they are, but they have them). The only publicly available polls are province-wide, & any website that translates them to the riding level is making guesses no better than what you could do yourself. Do not rely on them
Getting this out of the way early: if you share vote prediction screenshots for individual ridings from election projection websites
And frame it as a poll or something with authority
And there has been no actual polling done in that riding
I will think much less of you
please don't annoy me
This is an election where many people are likely to be voting strategically. If that’s you, fair enough. But the only real data you have to go on is past election results in your riding, and whatever vague sense of the current public mood you can glean from anecdotal experience.
