Resurrection 🧟‍♂️ (Launching v2) pds.rip is an ephemeral AT Protocol sandbox. Make an account, test the protocol, build something, then it is all destroyed seven days later. Now running atproto's spaces alpha, so you can try permissioned data here before it ships anywhere else. (🧵 1/3)

What's new: 📁 DID:PLC is now under dplc.rip, why? 🕸️ DID:WEB accounts supported under dweb.rip, and edit your DID document! ⏳ Extend any account up to 28 days 🔑 Lost your password? Reset it from the dashboard 🏷️ Labeler based account takedowns 🪦 PLC accounts are now tombstoned on plc.directory

Getting one has changed, no more captcha-walled signup from a client: 1. Go to pds.rip/accounts 2. Sign in with the handle you already have 3. Make up to 3 sub-accounts under *.dplc.rip or *.dweb.rip We've also stopped posting every creation and deletion. Live counts are on the site.

What else? ⏳ Extend expiry up to 28 days 👀 New landing page and look 🚫 Removed spam scoring (too agressive before) 🐰 Cute randomly generated handles (if input left empty) Example accounts: @cute-creep.dplc.rip: did:plc:wnvfcz74chtpq4vi3beam7rp @tiny-guts.dweb.rip: did:web:tiny-guts.dweb.rip

v1.119 is live! Bot labels are here. If you run an automated account, you can now mark it as such in your account settings. The label will show up on your profile and posts so people know what's a bot and what's not.

Using pds.rip to test out the onboarding flow for @questionable.fyi was rather neat. Looking forward to prompt=create landing, which will make signing up all that bit nicer!

I was looking for something like this.

𝖕𝖉𝖘.𝖗𝖎𝖕 🪦🥀@pds.rip

We're a public sandbox PDS for the AT Protocol network. Never worry about leaving a throwaway account behind. We're ephemeral, meaning your account, content, and data will be permanently wiped in one week. Create and account, test the protocol, build cool stuff. Keep reading to learn how (🧵 1/2)

This is a cool idea!

Create an account on your desktop browser by: 1. Open bsky.app or any AT Protocol client 2. Click "Create Account" 3. Select "Custom" hosting provider 4. Enter pds.rip 5. Complete the captcha and sign up You'll see your expiration date posted on this account soon after!

You are up to date.
