For me, this is a really great moment... I am grateful to my publisher and the entire team who made the English-language edition of my book possible. And I thank all of you, dear readers, very much. Without you, none of this would have been possible...

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually who are you not to be?” — Marianne Williamson

I was interviewed at CES this morning. We mentioned that consumers will decide whether they want to be on a platform that is “unfiltered free speech “ or “ moderated”. I mentioned that I loved @bsky.app , and spontaneously people started clapping 🔥.

x X has ~18m daily USA users. @bsky.app, ~1.5m. Is it worth 20 MINS a day to proactively recruit and bring your friends, neighbors, relatives, businesses, anyone who is or could be a user, to @bsky.app? If Bluesky ends up with more users than the others, you destabilize musk, zuck, trump.

1/ We're experiencing a huge influx of users, and with that, a predictable uptick in harmful content posted to the network. As a result, for some very high-severity policy areas like child safety, we recently made some short-term moderation choices to prioritize recall over precision.

It's amazing and a testament to the platform (or whatever it is), that we're still at it. Weekly drop in on Mondays on #jitsi!

Ok, I am so excited about this! I built a new algorithmic ranked feed based off my starter pack, and did it on skyfeed.app I'm probably going to tweak mine a bit, if you wanted a ranked feed of the best post from a selected list of followers, here is how you can do it. 1/8🧵 🧪 🩺🖥️ 🛟 #AcademicSky

OMG I remember that! Powerful and such mixed phrasing. Apparently it came out in 1969, I was 13 so I probably collected it later, when I was much cooler.🤫

RIP Peter Sinfield, co-founder of and early lyricist for King Crimson. I'll never forget the first time I shoved the 8-track of "In The Court of the Crimson King" into the JC Penney stereo of my 14-year-old bedroom, sat on the floor on my lime green "Hang Ten" foot-shaped rug, and heard THIS.

Thank you, very useful

I've been re-reading Alexander's "A Pattern Language" lately – not with a view to it's influence on software design – but for its own sake and with consideration of our own home and its environs. I find intensely comforting and «koselig».
