The ironic thing about the ICC being all weird about trans women in cricket is that they still let Australia play Like yeah I know why, but it’s funny about talking about fairness when Sophie Molineux’s gonna rock up and claim every series anyway by a mile.

You know what, ABC breakfast media is just better. Not having constant covert ads for whatever wellness hack or supplement or diet every 10 minutes is just *nice* The presenters feel… just a little less fake? Idk

My coworker got us free tickets to an API-focused conference that’s 2 days long What the fuck is going on in my industry? 90%of these talks are about AI agents, and most cluster on the same title themes anyway. There’s no way you all have anything at all interesting or unique to say on this topic?

I know fkn Rest APIs are a pretty dry topic as it is, and the whole thing is a networking event anyway But I feel like I’m watching all my neighbours get infected by brainworms or something

JUST ONE DAY LEFT FOR THE LAUNCH DISCOUNT!

Christine Love@christinelove.bsky.social

Haven't played the original award-winning experimental sex comedy Ladykiller in a Bind yet? Get it discounted in a bundle with Ladykiller Unleashed and learn how fun it can be to make the Beast push her luck and get in trouble for it! store.steampowered.com/bundle/92605... itch.io/s/206947/lad...

Finished the new run in Ladykiller Unleashed and holy shit, I was laughing like a fucking Kookaburra the whole damn time. I feel so seen, so targeted, it’s just *wonderful* Also some of these jokes only work in VNs and I genuinely love that. I guess Analogue is getting picked up next!

There’s a bunch of reasons they won’t, which I understand But if the federal govt want a thriving competitive tech sector, rather than courting the AI companies and their data centre scams, it’d be way more economically efficient to just import all the trans people their allies keep demonising

But like also it wouldn’t be that hard, apart from the Sky News optics. Here’s a skilled worker visa with focused we want, buy a bunch of share houses in like coburg or Richmond, subsidise a healthcare centre for the area with specific hrt specialisation that the visa can access

And guarantee that the Feds will protect access to transgender healthcare enough to make it a prick to undo. Also idk, guarantee to prosecute foreign actors who threaten or defame residents à la certain UK media outlets. A couple of grants later… idk it’s easy to get us to make software lol

Piggybacking off the AI art disc horse and how people talk about the like implied connection with the artist, and like yeah But also like especially with games or books by people I even tangentially know, it makes me smile imagining them thinking up the joke that just made me giggle

Yeah, AI thumbnails suck but what’s even worse for me is when a YouTube video’s script is so clearly written by the slop machine, especially if the signs only get clear halfway through. Genuinely quietly go lick my arse, frankly.

Be nice if Steam allowed for any other age verification mechanism (including account age) than just “add a credit card” I’ve since learned that some banks debit cards work if they split their card types by age bracket (commbank has a separate under18 debit card, UpBank does not)

claude please research any new jacking-off tech developed over the past five years rank by effectiveness and efficiency, prioritize good deals on required tools, rank up academic sources. csv format with detailed reports in plain html, no modern gradients, mla bibliography.

I just love it when AWS updates their perfectly functional documentation site (ignoring its lack of internal search) to match their more “modern” look and it just fucking breaks Vibecoded nonsense in prod lets gooooo

today, lowercase can be clickbait, or a strategy of gen z-ers to read as less intense. it can also be a status symbol, or a way to signal human authorship. finally, pockets of the internet still see lowercase as somehow antiestablishment.

Play Ladykiller in a Bind. You will not regret playing Ladykiller in a Bind.

Today's the 10th anniversary of the original release of Ladykiller in a Bind on October 10, 2016. I've got a whole lot of thoughts I'll share next week, but today, I just want to express my gratitude to everyone who's been here supporting me since then. I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart 😭

today in mastodon's amazing unrequested tech support: after I complained about how my ZSH was doing bad tab-completion, and 21 hours after I fixed it, someone showed up to link me to a video (!) of how tab completion works in general (!!) in Bash (!!!), a completely different shell (!!!!)

Season 1? Very funny but sort of as a metatextual joke more than moment to moment. Season 2, I'm dying laughing every 10 seconds
