I am 100% in favor of people who don't want kids not having kids, but watching your kids play on the beach on a day where all your responsibilities are asleep is a peak human experience of a type you will struggle to get elsewhere.

In Texas, highly engaged democrats are turning out in presidential cycle numbers, republicans are turning out like it's a midterm. The infrequent/soft Dem voters are showing up early and above 2024 levels Paxton is beyond cooked but I don't think Abbott is gonna be very close in the final tally

I believe in mutual aid. That’s why I pay my taxes and vote for politicians who promise to expand the welfare state, you know, the Dems

I feel like people are underrating a fairly obvious theory for this (and the previous laughably stupid lawsuits that the SCOTAK struck): the point is just getting the word out that this situation exists so their voters realize it and vote for the incumbent Dan Sullivan over the other Dan Sullivan

if you've never read the GLib source, it's a really fascinating C project. They built object orientation out of C primitives in a really clever way. Of course after my first thought which was "wow this is cool", i immediately thought: why didn't you use c++, but hey

is this the first use of Branch Benderite?

I feel like a lot of these "opinions" we can put a pin in and check back in 5 years, what with all that's going to have been going on. drone overflying the Branch Benderites compound etc

let's assume that there is another catastrophic php bug and nodejs bug, right now. equally bad. under what possible logic, given current tools, does it take more than 12 months to find it?

climate disasters are here and worse than predicted, diesel is 6+ bucks a gallon, and solar panels are cheaper than mid grade plywood. yet mysteriously it’s some big obstacle!

I think this is an evergreen question tied to being in peak earning years worrying about property ownership, children, and looming retirement more than social or generational factors, which mean we millennials are going to be feeling this with our cohort real soon. Get ready.
