We decided we had too much work to do on Gold Country to attend this year's Free League Publishing #spelkongress despite having a whale of a time and meeting loads of new friends when we were invited last year. So, sadly we are not there. But our spies are!

I loved drawing some old school monochrome dungeon and hex map work for a zine Wicked North Games are pulling together. (wickednorthgames.com) . They asked for something simple, which I overshot slightly and had to be reigned in, ha ha. So much fun. #osr #dnd #ttrpg #dungeonmap #dungeoncrawl

@seans.page, great blurb on Feng Shui. I need to up my game next session!

A year on from me starting it, I complete my list of 101 TTRPGs I played before my 50th birthday. How did you spend your birthday? I bet it wasn't doing your work and then hammering out 3.5k words about the chatgames with funny dice (or no funny dice, or no dice.) #ttrpg

Graphic novel pals, feel free to suggest me to your agent (if you like working with them), as I am back on the querying grind with a graphic novel that would be a perennial selling YA/adult follow up to my award-winning book on comics, that is still in print (3rd or 4th printing)?

It's Batman Day, say the powers-that-be, so here's a few of my sketches of The Dark Knight, in honour of all the great artists and writers who've brought him to life over the decades.

The noble is Irimë, of the House of Finwë, one of the oldest elves in Middle Earth. She's being hunted by Morlhoss, an elvish spirit twisted in the depths of Dol Guldur. Her capture would be an incalculable loss for the elves. It's the high stakes that hopefully make this adventure sing.

The Iron Man is a great way to see the shift, that it can be made in a man cave, but it's not very good, it needs to be made by a billionaire. And they are the geniuses.

What happened to the crazy inventor making stuff in his garage trope? When I was a kid in the 90's it was so common It seemed like a legit career path, now you hardly see it anymore and I feel like theres a darker reason for that shift. In modern media science is done in a lab owned by a corporation

Two Shades of Green #DeltaGreen There is no predetermined Big Bad. The campaign opens small — an evidence box, a name on a note card, a cabin in the woods — and where that leads is determined through play.

Soft launching my new webcomic today: Rogue's Garden. It will update every day this week and then on Thursdays. It's inspired by this comic I did for Chickadee Magazine. Colouful, silly, list-based comedy. #WebComic #RGComic

It's been a top notch rpg summer. Ran playtests for a Dragonbane scenario I wrote, as well as an rpg I'm designing with a couple of friends. Both need tweaks but they're off and running in a positive direction. Fan Expo last weekend was blast, filled with loads of solid rpg convos and gaming.

Today was surreal. Ran into an old buddy from high school who was part of my first D&D group (AD&D 2e) on the streets of Toronto. Haven't seen him in almost 30 years. He pointed out the D&D shirt I was wearing.

Now prep has begun for an all day One Ring session in a couple weeks with friend's I've known since elementary school, though we didn't game together until after university. If you're able, my advice is never stop rolling dice. The joy it can bring is incalculable.

So many ways to tell the government what's wrong with their crappy budgeting. Tell them to do UBI, avoid the AI bubble, develop sovereign Canadian tech, ditch pipelines for renewables, or whatever you're thinking.

UBI Works@ubiworks.bsky.social

Most of the time when UBI Works asks you to contact the government, we're asking you to email an MP. This time the government is actually asking. Now's your chance to put basic income in the next federal budget. Questionnaire closes September 8: www.canada.ca/en/departmen...

That's $9k each by the way. The writers get a chunk for themselves and then a chunk to spend on contractors and manufacturing. Then TKG pre-orders ~100-200 of the finished books (netting the creators another $1-2k when it's all said and done).

I get shipping is expensive but when you support a kickstarter for over a hundred dollars, with an additional cost of $37 dollars on shipping, and then $16 dollars on additional taxes, when it arrives in packaging like this and its damaged its pretty disappointing.
