My thoughts on the current state of AI driven software development, why I'm no longer concerned about a runaway intelligence explosion, and what I think is a far worse outcome we could be walking into maevyn.codes/decoherence

atuin v18.24 is out now! 🐢✨ including "atuin threads": sync and search your ai threads across devices, and resume them anywhere you can start a thread in Claude on your server, and pick it up in Codex on your laptop run "atuin resume" to get started

Also I'm jazzed about Petal from the CoScreen folks. Very cool of them to try and build something acquisition-proof for the community after experiencing "our incredible journey"-fication first hand 🪻 petal.live

Getting to contribute back to homebrew-cask once in a blue moon is always a treat. It makes me so happy to see how good the docs and how friendly the maintainers are - big ups to @mikemcquaid.com for leading a top notch team! 🍻 github.com/Homebrew/hom...

I would take more seriously the people promoting the idea of AI consciousness if they first materially grappled with the (much more obvious) consciousness of animals and how that affects our moral obligations to them.

I've been working on a self-hosted uptime checker in Elixir to help dogfood Miren's support. I'm interested in having the probe be very detailed about timings across the network stack, with extra checks that run on failure to try and distinguish network path blips from real failures.

Miren v0.17 is out! Elixir and Phoenix apps get first-class support in this release. Just `miren init && miren deploy` and your assets and migrations are handled for you. Check out our guide here: miren.md/guides/elixir

Impossible to overstate how much of my soul is imbued into this post. I wanted to push the boundaries of the web as an education platform. Why _shouldn’t_ we run Kubernetes in the browser to demonstrate for-real what happens, and let you influence it? Hope you love it. 🫶

Deploying apps on the web has always been a major turn off for me - it feels like being gifted a litter of puppies. Assorted pain reduction services exist with tamagotchi rental economics. And then I discovered miren.dev. I have absolutely no association with them. I am just genuinely in awe.

In Wario Land 4, a single syllable of the Palm Tree Paradise vocals ("ni~") is stored in a higher quality than anything else in the files. In fact, it is stored at a quality too high for the GBA to even play back, making this completely inaudible on original hardware.
