The drawing of Rose in Titanic was actually done by James Cameron.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

If you're in the vicinity tomorrow, why not stop by and check out Sar's comics? I picked up Beware the Knight at Caption and really enjoyed it.

I'll be at Gosh!Fest tomorrow bright and early from 11AM-12PM - come on down and getcha copies of HORSE!, Ghost Watch, Beware the Knight, as well as Horse Girl stickers. I'll be on the table with: Andy Barron, Leo Fox, NanaSometimesDraws, Miranda Smart, Claude TC & Kiera Won

Do you like and/or make comics? Consider coming to Caption. If you're considering coming to Caption, how about prebooking a ticket, maybe snagging yourself a T-shirt, and helping fund the event? 11 hours left on the clock!

Caption has a crowdfunder: another way you can help finance this thing with some big announcements to come www.indiegogo.com/en/projects/...

It was actually James Cameron who drew her like one of his French girls.

What's your "He actually broke his toe here" thing? The factoid you can't help but share whenever it comes up. For me, it's how the punk on the bus in Star Trek IV actually wrote and recorded the song that he's playing because he was annoyed the original song they had didn't sound punk at all.

I've just finished reading Maud is Moving for the first time. So beautifully written and illustrated, and I loved seeing the world through Maud's eyes for a little while. I promised E(8 and a half) she could read the book after I finished, and she has seized it.

Here's how the first story in Maud is Moving begins. My favourite bit of the illustration is how she sits at the table, I was remembering how I'd sit myself as a child.

I have enjoyed Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein & Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights & I’m looking forward to Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride! But my question is: who is your dream visionary director to adapt a literary (or cinematic) classic? I think: Wes Anderson’s Evelina-balance, wit, sadness

It's that time in my Making comics intro course when I talk image-text relations, which gives me an excuse to share 2 favorite comics that do bewildering things that can only be done in comics! Ibn Al-Rabin's seminal Le Verbe Prophétique alongside the always brilliant @tomgauld.bsky.social. So good!

Hey folks! How about supporting Jack and Talha in creating something weird and horrible? Go on, it'll be brilliant.

The ABIDE KickStarter is now LIVE! Stop motion horror the likes of which have never been seen before! Back now and be involved with something very cool. www.kickstarter.com/projects/637...

I'm torn between encouraging more people to pick this up, and hoping nobody else solves it before I do! Why not give it a try? It's weird and imaginative and has a CROSSWORD.

carrie z@somebypaths.bsky.social

carrie's self-promotion post: there's still time to be the 3rd person to solve, or the 13th or so person to listen to and enjoy, what is universally lauded as the most delectable musical album of the last several months (if not years): that beloved crossword album known only as “Puzzles of 2025”.

A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain. A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones. The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

Lovely music from a classic Z Tapes/Start Track artist. Going free. 24 codes left at time of posting!

If you live in the UK and you were shocked to see the US ICE seize a 5 year old boy, don't forget this is what Nigel Farage and the Reform Party UK want for our country.

The Laurel Peking Restaurant on Cheap Street in Newbury. Nice atmosphere, a flexible set menu (great for special occasions, you could pick a couple of favourite dishes and they'd choose the rest to go with them) and the best crispy chilli beef I've ever had.

This post is unavailable.

There are some free codes left for one of my albums of the year! Why not have a listen?

I enjoyed this a lot. Proper hard sci-fi with a nice satirical edge, while also a proper well-constructed whodunit. Recommended!

Today’s the last episode of MURDER ON MARS! 14:15, BBC Radio 4. I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride and all the deaths/twists/jokes along the way. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m... The truth: we need migration. The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it. Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality. Reject it. Draw the line.
