I was going to add myself to this thread back in August, but then I got nerd-sniped by all the nice OG images and told myself my website had to have them before I posted. Anyway, 2 months later: pjpscriv.co.nz 🎉

Brb updating my title to Platonic Hyperprogrammer

dan@danabra.mov

in a sense, a program is not its source code, but a projection of a platonic "why this idea works" hyperprogram. we usually don't see the hyperprogram the original developers/team usually maintain both. but the agents mostly engage with the projection, thereby losing the hyperprogram

Je suis à #MTLConnect ! Mon but c'est d'évangéliser à propos d'atproto à au moins d'une personne

humbling to think that we can now write more software in a weekend than a medieval peasant could in their entire lifetime

Just casually a whole other way to call any function, passing through a template string as its template components and then, individually _each individual expression evaluated in the template string_ 🤯

Pretty funnnnn

ICANN's gTLD application window closed last night and bigger-than-2012 (last round) stuff is already happening lfg.link applied for 316, more than anyone in 2012 (it'll cost $71 million in application fees alone!) some interesting strings in there...going to thread until I run out of steam

Furious that Chris Nolan would disregard historical accuracy in adapting The Odyssey by making a "movie" with "cameras" instead of memorizing the entire story and then going on a nationwide tour to sing it to us while tripping on ergotized barley

AtProto for Grug: PDS = user stuff cave Lexicon = shape of stuff Firehose = big river of all protocol events AppView = app’s own copy of PDS stuff so app go fast That it. Other words mostly noise for most dev.

Unicode discovery - saw the word "affiliation" on a website and was like "why does that look weird" 🤔 Turns out the "ffi" had been transformed into a single unicode glyph - "ffi" !! I didn't even know this was *possible*. Extremely haunted

It's extremely jank and hinges on YouTube not blocking me downloading the videos - but seems to be working for now 🤞🤞

*satisfying as in "ah yes that explains why that's happening" - the reasons _why_ it's happening, decidedly less satisfying
