Curling Canada emailed their annual report. Header image in the email? Features maple leaves, one of which has four lobes. The report cover? Made to look like a sketch of curling rocks, but the words on the rock handles show the telltale garbledness that point to AI generation. Disappointing.

Want to make things but first I needed to make the thing to make the things on. Well, first I needed to set up the garage to make the…you get the point. Got most of the way through making a pottery bench this afternoon.

Felt almost like a regular human this morning so attempted a run for the first time in months. Good news- no foot pain. Bad news- a lot of reloading to do for the ol’ knees to agree. Also Ern dog has forgotten how to go go go without the stop and sniff sniff sniff.

Got to announce at our membership meeting tonight that we are doing a feasibility study on a new curling facility for St Stephen. 🥌 Whoohoo!

Got some samples of this made in NB ceramic glaze to test out. But I have nothing bisqued! So I had better get making…shout out to Salt and Solar Ceramics!

Have the confidence to continue on with your life this Monday, the same way the line painter in Brockway carried on down the highway despite no apparent ability to paint parallel or straight lines.

What time should it be? Most of western Canada is doing away with the twice-yearly time change and moving to permanent daylight saving time, but permanent standard time would be better for our health. By me in @chco-tv.bsky.social chco.tv/column-what-...

First attempt at nerikomi this week. Need to make more bisque or plaster molds for some different shapes, but I can see this being incredibly addictive. Some minor smudges that will hopefully sand out. #pottery

Walkers on the riverside trail in St. Stephen have a new activity to partake in while strolling along the St. Croix River — a “StoryWalk” put up by the St. Croix Public Library. chco.tv/st-stephen-s...

So started feeling sick Saturday afternoon. Spent yesterday in bed. Woke up still sick. Since rest didn’t work, reverting to my usual “pretend everything is fine” and pounding cold meds.

Watching the Battle skins game from last night. Distracted by the paint job on the rings. Must have been a really rushed install.

After two months of no pottery because of moving and travel, I got back in the studio this week. The first night was 3 hours of prep and glazing. Tonight was mostly glazing too but I did colour some clay to do nerikomi next week! Hope the flowerpot cups are visited by the magnificent kiln gods 🤞

Hired a designer for a consultation on our new house because I am tired of living in cobbled together spaces, but afraid I can’t afford anything intentional. So hopefully we will at least get some good ideas.

And now all the acquaintances who I rarely speak to since quitting other social media apps are coming out of the woodwork, wanting to know if we are moving.

It's always a great sign when an interview with a scientist starts like this: Me: Hi there, thanks for talking to me. I'd like to ask you some questions about [thing]. Scientist: OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE [thing]!!! I could talk about [thing] for hours!!!!!
