I wonder if the idea is to replace the*actual* Teal Book... projectdelivery.gov.uk/teal-book/ho... (Of course it is... )

Our Library now holds 59 Local SEND Reform Plans. You can search them all poppop.studio/tools/librar... What would you want to know to compare them all? I'll run a Survey across the best ideas and publish them here...

Just a guy, with diplopia, asking people to use a platform that gives a teeny tiny poop about web standards and accessibility so I can read the words on the page... (Try zooming in on the page on mobile and you'll see that Substack will shove words off the page)

According to the @teachertapp.bsky.social survey, 90% of teachers are on half term next week, so Tutor Group Think is having a break for a week and will return on Monday 2nd November. Here's a taste of what we've done this term. Perhaps share and build our community. bit.ly/TutorGroupThink

Totally invested in the outcome of this ..

I constructed this model with Year 10 and asked some Qs. One was explain how ↑exercise leads to ↑CO₂ production. I was surprised that a few students wrote how exercise leads to ↑breathing and therefore, ↑CO₂. Is this "folk knowledge"? Or do they see the cell respiration outflow as "breathing out".

My silly Wikipedia thing was much more ego driven... All the number 1 hits on every birthday I've ever had. Birthday.lonetour.co.uk

Looking for #parents to complete our survey on #language development and #sleep - we need more info on this important topic! We are particularly interested to hear from families of children with #DLD or #poorsleepers Survey is 15mins & anonymous 😊 cityunilondon.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

This is the problem isn't it. We want cathedrals and palaces, bridges and gardens. We get soulless tower blacks and a paved area with a skateboard ramp. If only today's billionaires had the freedom to build what they want...

It's very annoying that Substack care so little about their readers that they make it impossible to zoom the page without losing words off the edge. That and the dubious accounts which are supported financially. There are alternatives to Substack, and if writers care about readers they must go.

Excited to see this new Jason Statham movie... hopefully he'll be playing it straight (sic), not like Tootsie or Mrs Doubtfire

“biological sex” is a fundamentalist religious concept and it is the least relevant thing to consider in healthcare settings.

I'm getting more convinced that domain knowledge and domain thinking are inseparable, once you get past a certain level. I was only ever taught to think in art in night school, as an adult. It's a different kind of thinking to maths or geography, isn't it?

@isabellefk.bsky.social do you know who owns the barriers to education site because the cookies and terms page need some love and affection...

Civil servant transgender guidelines leak just dropped:

One of the things I miss about my day job is being able to build little websites. If you're disabled, disability/ SEND/ inclusion adjacent (or anything poetry related) and you'd like a cute new website*, let me know... *Accessible, web standards, proper CMS, extendable, easier to use than WordPress

Can anyone confirm that this Meta / Facebook "we're scraping everything you've got" clause is USA only or includes EU/UK ?

𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱: 𝗔𝗻 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝘂𝗿𝘂 To redesign my book listing page to maximize conversions of people who are genuine target readers. And ideally to then help with Amazon ads. https://tinyurl.com/hiddenmultipliers

Two important take aways from this. The country is run by halfwits who want to "win". Cos-playing disability does not produce empathy. Try listening to and believing disabled people. As a side note, I studied Midsummer's at school, and it was only years later that I discovered it's a comedy...

This is taking Barbara Hepworth's "pierced stone" somewhere different...

I'm excited to jump into this and get some tips on PII (personally identifiable information) security when using AI.

Trying to get as many in as they can before being sued... See the TES article...

It's called "Creative writing" for a reason...

No head restraints? Lol. That'll ruin it. Those berloody Europeans not letting people die in style...

This, right here, is how to do alt text Wonderful pictures, perfectly described

Anyway, I think I'll abandon this profile and just play around with poetry on another. Any trans and / or disabled people I know need a poetry website?

I mean, there's no such thing as society, so 🤷

TW, euthanasia and execution. I think the answer these people are looking for is euthanasia. Let's execute the bottom 1%. If you're not paying taxes, death. Tbh, I haven't read past the first 3 paragraphs, because they were disgusting enough.

Given that the gov is writing off 90% of LA SEND debt (in exchange for an acceptable SEND Reform plan), I'm tempted to ask where those billions are coming from. The magic money tree? Gov is not a household budget...

"Every time we should have drifted, we clung..." Absolutely poetry. And what an ugly word is "clung"?

chajournal.com/2010/07/07/t...

If you've vibe coded your marketing website, how do you edit it? Do you seriously just use more ai and ask it to fiddle a few words?

carlhendrick.substack.com/p/the-untold... @cmooreanderson.eurosky.social @mrjlauder.bsky.social Happy Saturday reading

"Every time we should have drifted, we clung..." Absolutely poetry. And what an ugly word is "clung"?

A really important question, especially for the teams putting together the DfE SEND CPD over the coming months.

A better critique might be that you'll spend a bit of cash, and in a relatively short amount of time change the way you think about your teaching. A bit of that cash goes to compensate Chris for taking the time to distil his practice and thinking, and share it with the world. Books are amazing 😍

Great book... Buy it if you know anyone who teaches...

Whatever Claude does is fine 😉

Word Aware training is now available on demand. Same content, but now you can watch it at a time that suits you. So if you are looking for a proven way to improve children's vocabulary, check this out. thinkingtalking.podia.com @lang4think.bsky.social

"The observer is not weighing up the broad, and largely unanswerable, question of whether this was a good lesson. They are looking at one area through the same shared language the teacher is already working with and helping them to improve it."
