I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

This is Maeve. She may be the sweetest, most good natured, most trusting dog I have ever met. She was abandoned in DC last week, and since I’m not able to adopt a dog now, I had to turn her over to the Brandywine Animal Shelter. I want to make sure this absolute delight of a dog finds a good home.

For all the work the conservative legal movement put into capturing the Supreme Court, they've never been able to get around the basic fact that normal people hate its policy agenda. The polling numbers on Citizens United are ABYSMAL. Blowout-level stuff. ballsandstrikes.org/law-politics...

Common sense for the common people.

AI is unpopular. The public overwhelmingly supports aggressive AI regulation; it overwhelmingly opposes further investment in AI infrastructure. Naturally, Dems are telling frontline members to ̶d̶o̶ ̶p̶o̶p̶u̶l̶a̶r̶i̶s̶m̶ curl into the fetal position to appease the mean tech men. There is another way.

Unsurprising

Donald Trump Jr.'s island wedding extravaganza was partially funded and planned by a Russian oligarch who is close to Putin and attended part of the multi-day outing. Don Jr calls him a "personal friend." @justinelliott.bsky.social @amierjeski.bsky.social www.propublica.org/article/dona...

Here's a gift link to my 9/11 essay in the NYT. Civil libertarians long warned that before giving government new powers, we should consider how an administration with authoritarian ambition might abuse them. We were told that America was too exceptional to elect such a person. Well here we are.

Before I read the fine print on this, and having just watched Brooke Rollins blather on about drones, AI, and screwworms, I was about to tag @bencollins.bsky.social about this post. Doing it anyway for kicks.

Trump is mired in an illegal war that's destabilizing the world while spiking inflation & immiserating Americans, a key part of the govt remains unfunded, & Rs who control Congress are fixated on...spending taxpayer $ for a vanity ballroom Trump vowed would be privately funded A complete clown show

Trump started a pointless and illegal war with Iran, he lost it almost immediately, he crushed America's economy and America's partners while making Iran and our rivals much stronger. He did it for no reason he can articulate. In any decent nation, he'd be forced to resign immediately.

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

Congressman Tom Suozzi was confronted. He is one of seven Democrats casting the decisive votes to increase ICE funding by $10,000,000,000. Hideous, grotesque, fascist-loving coward, this man has blood on his hands. We will not forgive him, and we will not forget.

Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him. “When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.” That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

So so sad.

We are America. How could you possibly target Native Americans - with ICE Officers - and then imprison us? That is impossible. It's legally impossible to do that. - Chase Iron Eyes

I realise I'm just a freak, but living in a multicultural city is the best thing of all time, it's just the best possible human experience and i can not understand why anyone on earth would be like "weve got to destroy this"

I watched all 15 episodes of The Pitt season 1 in 3 days and now I am sure I am about to die amid some mumbling about systolic femoral BP carotid oxygen... please intubate me with steroids before my spine taps out

I was a teen when Nixon bombed Cambodia so have seen the harm caused by that moron and his comrades Reagan and Bush pere et fils. But starting a war with NATO is beyond belief; self-sabotage at a strategic level equalled only by the stupidity of Chamberlain. Gilt wrapped gift to China and Russia.
