What would Question 3's jungle primaries mean in MA? i turned to activists in CA, including here transportation advocate @carterlavin.bsky.social. What do we learn? Question 3 would mean more outside money and more negative campaigning. Hard pass. Vote NO on 3.

You want to become California for all the wrong reasons, Massachusetts? Because saying yes on 3 will do that.
Why did the founder of Tinder donate to Question 3, the campaign to bring California-style top-two "jungle" primaries, to Massachusetts? I have a few ideas. Remember, Massachusetts: swipe left on Question 3. #mapoli

The current electoral system is bad, but the top-two primary has been even worse in California and Washington. The majority party risks getting shut out of the general election when it has too many primary candidates, so party elites often pick favorites in contested primaries to avoid that outcome
A new UMass Amherst poll shows Massachusetts voters passing Question 3 to adopt the top-two “primary” by 49-39. But that’s much smaller than the 51-32 lead they found in August. A September poll from MassINC showed it passing by 43-36

On #mapoli Q3, the Coalition for a Stealthy Oligarchy is dominating the Testosterone Derby. Of 59 individual donations over $50,000, 57 are from men, most in high finance. The top 5 have kicked in over $3,000,000. mauricecunningham153.substack.com/p/massachuse...

Thank you to our JP community! 🙏 ♥️ mailchi.mp/jpprogressiv... Make some time this week to volunteer with a ballot campaign—you can do it from home and the impact will be huge. We're especially concerned about the No on 3 and No on 5 campaigns!!

Massachusetts, here's our chance to prove we're smarter than California. (Also, a cautionary tale.) Vote No on Question 3. And tell all your friends to, too.
To understand the impact of a top-two primary, we turned to friends in California who have seen how it played out. Here's long-time climate activist RL Miller, who explains how it's been a way for Big Business to buy legislative seats and crush progressives. Massachusetts, vote NO on 3.

Why are private equity execs flocking to Question 3? It's because they think it's a good for their bank accounts and a way to crush nascent working-class populism. I unpack it in the piece here. working-mass.com/2026/10/19/o...
