Nobody wants your opinion, Jim. You can quit being a Republican apologist.

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

🤔 James Carville: “I’d rather Republicans keep the house by 5 than Dems win by 5… Because then they’re hostage to DSA, and Hakeem can’t move.” 😬Bill Kristol: “Good point.” So afraid of DSA folks who want M4ALL, etc. they’d rather Republicans hold power. Unreal. True colors.

So if you said this about Republicans what would the response be? Because they lie about everything.

ESG Hound@esghound.com

ok so if you said this about israel what would the response be

The highest unemployment got under Biden was 6%, for 3 months in 2021.

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Wait a minute? Did he just say there was 21.5% unemployment and inflation of 30-35% during the Biden administration?!?!

Now try speaking to ordinary people. Burst out of your bubble and find out what normal everyday people think of the economy. I'll bet you won't find many who think things are great. But we can count on you NOT doing that, because it would go counter to the myth Faux News is pushing.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Maria Bartiromo on Democrats pointing out that the economy is not great: "That's just propaganda. I mean, look, things are going well. And I think we're all feeling it. I've spoken with a number of CEOs ... "

Does he realize he's talking about tRump? It's about time that Republicans placed the blame where it belongs.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ron Johnson: "There's one person responsible for our miserably failed response to covid, the deaths of millions ... how much bigger a crime has ever been committed in all of history?

It's pretty clear you don't understand your responsibility as a US senator. The Constitution gives you clear direction on how to rein in a president. It's called impeachment. Perhaps you should grow a pair, since you only have a few months left until you're sent out to pasture.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Cornyn: "There's nothing we could do to rein in the president"

Don't just say you can prove it, provide the proof. Fewer than 9 million people died worldwide from Covid. I can't believe that you got elected as a senator, and sure as hell hope you don't get elected as governor. If you do, I feel sorry for the people of Alabama.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

TUBERVILLE: Fauci killed 9 million people FOX BUSINESS: Yeah. We can't prove that, right? TUBERVILLE: We can

They can also limit the cases that the Supreme Court can review. That alone would stop some of the abuse.

Michael McDonald@electproject.bsky.social

If Democrats can reform the Supreme Court they could also: - Increase the size of the Senate with DC statehood - Increase the size of the House - Update the Voting Rights Act - Pass a federal ban on partisan congressional gerrymandering

Why would a fake person PAY for health insurance? Oz is an idiot.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Dr Oz on ACA "fraud" -- "Of the people who signed up, 40% never use the insurance. Let me ask you, John, you have health insurance -- do you use it once a year? In Obamacare right now 40% of the people ostensibly signed up never use the insurance ... we have a lot of fake people on the policies"

I've had home insurance for over 40 years. I've filed no claims. Does that mean that I'm a fake person? No, it means that Oz is an idiot.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎 The history of this day is rooted in California. We must speak out with the same collective voice that created Earth Day all those years ago in order to protect our beaches, coastal economies, marine life, and our planet.

Where I live you can't buy gas (or anything else) with the stock market. It takes cssh.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: How much longer will American continue to see these high gas prices? TRUMP: Well, they're not very high Q: $4 a gallon still TRUMP: That's what ABC says, but the stock market is up. Everything is doing really well.

Just listened to Sen. Murkowski's statement on CSPAN2. It's clear why she's a no. $2-3,000 to register if you don't live in one of 6 cities? Why would anyone re-elect her if they had to pay that much just to register? Republicans really are dumb.

Marc Elias@marcelias.bsky.social

Am I the only one who thinks the GOP's push on the SAVE Act fizzled? I expected more from them. It turned out to be a big nothing. A very low energy affair.

I'm 80. California requires me to take the written test every 5 years. If they required a driving test as well, I would happily comply. My brothers and I took my mother's car away when it became clear she shouldn't be driving, and I trust my brothers would do the same for me if I needed it.

Yeah inconveniencing seniors is a really tough policy issue -- they vote. bsky.app/profile/pete...

Formula 1 racing goes to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in April. What are the odds that both of those events are canceled or rescheduled? If I were in charge, neither event would happen. They are too big of targets for the Iranians to ignore. Too many international visitors to ignore. @f1tv.bsky.social

He knows that if the TV cameras cut to him,the boos will drown out any commentary. And his fragile ego can't handle that.

Oops, sorry. I misquoted Hassett He actually said "the EU leaders asked us Why are you guys doing it?".

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

KUDLOW: Will the Davos crowd give him the respect that his policies deserve? HASSETT: President Trump's success demands that they do. Just now I had leaders from the EU in my office and asking us for tips -- 'How are you guys doing it?'

This is an excellent thought-provoking twist on qualified immunity. @kenwhite.bsky.social , your thoughts?

A.R. Moxon@juliusgoat.bsky.social

Let me give you a thought experiment: Imagine not just a ban on qualified immunity for authority, but a reversal; a new legal framework, under which authority bears greater responsibility than civilians in matters involving force—as it should. www.the-reframe.com/absolute-imm...

I have been diagnosed with anemia, and also had a tumor removed earlier this year. I'm on Medicare. If you looked at my Part C and Part D EOBs, you'd think Kaiser spent over $400k on my medical care this year. That's the billed amount. This argument is nothing but bullshit. Billed amounts...1/2

digby@digby56.bsky.social

Do we have to go through this AGAIN? We spent all of 2009-10 listening to experts as they educated the voters about why this bullshit doesn't work! And Marshall's a doctor! It's nothing new. They've done the same with Medicare & Social Security for almost a century. They never quit.

You have this slightly wrong. It should read 'No one is going to come here.' Canadians already have shown what US policy does to travel; wait until folks from these waiver countries find out how stupid this administration is. No Europeans, no Australians, no New Zealanders. They should retaliate.

Molly Jong-Fast@mollyjongfast.bsky.social

No one is going to want to come here

The New York Times has done it again. The Tilt by Nate Cohn tries to make the argument that because no one has tinkered with health care in the recent past, it's not an issue anymore. According to him, everyone is satisfied with the current state of health care. So why are the Democrats making 1/x

such a fuss about it? Because they have nothing else. Trump has so changed the political landscape that Democrats are trying to do something, even if it's bad. After all, 92%of Americans have health insurance, completely ignoring the fact that millions of Americans will lose Medicaid benefits 2/x

and millions more will drop their Obamacare benefits. I can't believe how callous they are. Makes me wonder why I keep paying them for their atrocious attitude. 3/3.

Wonder why there are commissaries on military bases? Because the military doesn't pay it's enlisted personnel very much. Commissaries provide food and other goods at discount prices so families can afford to stay in the service. It is that simple. Wonder how many will make it a career now.
