A less Twin Peaks update - spot the difference between vessel placement during the 21st of October 2025 test window and today. It does not mean a Burevestnik test is taking place - we cannot possibly know that from vessel placement alone - but it looks very, very similar.

Behold: The US Defense Intelligence Agency has released a report on challenges to security in space, including an NEI image of China’s spaceplane from Maxar, taken in 2024.

Reported by Eric Berger back in June and now apparently confirmed by Anatoliy Zak and others, the leaky ISS Zvezda PRK and aft hatch area are declared permanently 'out of order'. Progress ships will dock at a side port to deliver cargo, and then redock at the Zvezda port for orbit reboosts.

The monitoring vessels appear to have shuffled to a test-like configuration overnight/this morning, leaving Matochkin Shar and journeying north, up along the west coast. But as ever; impossible to say a test is underway from vessel positions alone.

Quick update on any possible test of Burevestnik from the Pankovo site in Novaya Zemlya: 1) The monitoring vessels are still up there 2) The NOTAMs are still active 3) The weather hasn't been great 4) TERIBERKA is on the way again from Arkhangelsk - this might explain why tug MARS is still up there

EFIM KOSTYUKOV has had enough and appears to be returning to the mainland; MARS also departing - removing the pier is something that takes a couple of days, but it seems because of timing around landing/removing stuff from other vessels, delays with weather etc, they got stuck up there for ~3 weeks.

NISAR did two passes on the night of the 22nd of October; so it was able to catch the vessels as they sat in Matochkin Shar and then as they left to go north to monitor the planned test(?) on the 23rd of October. The faint glow of RFI from Pankovo is visible on the earlier image.

Teriberka sitting in Belushya Guba from the same pass yesterday; it stopped off there before continuing north to Pankovo/Gribovaya Bay.

Vessels still up there, but are shuffling between Matochkin Shar & Gribovaya Bay, rather than in a test layout - a reminder that last year, the monitoring vessels departed en masse the morning after the Russian's announced the test that took place on 21st of October. bsky.app/profile/puca...

The vessels involved in monitoring Burevestnik tests, appear to be departing Matochkin Shar en masse this morning. Some "Mission Accomplished" choreography. But it's not entirely wrapped up yet; as the continued presence of RZK Constanta, Yauza and Teriberka attests.

Re: MYRA, there was a Sentinel 1 pass off the Atlantic coast of Ireland earlier tonight at 18:39 UTC. Strongest return I can see in the general area is circa 55.624 -14.256, which would be southeast of its last reported AIS position report, but I couldn't say it's MYRA.

At least the weather is calming down a bit, chart shows significant wave height and wind speed from the M6 Buoy, located at 53.075, -15.881.

The vessels are returning from their positions, back to regroup in Matochkin Shar. So that's the end of this test, or, whatever it was. We wait and see what happens next. Teriberka is on the way & Mars is back in the bay to finally remove to floating pier.

The good news is we got a Landsat pass yesterday; bad news is I'm getting a headache examining it due to the contrast levels. Haven't spotted any slam dunk evidence of aircraft activity yet, but perhaps hints. Some vessels are visible through the cloud. *resumes gawking*

A comparison of vessel positions around 12 UTC today, with the test setup during 21st of October 2025, for whatever it's worth. Again, not proof of anything, but perhaps at least worth noting. It will be interesting to see how long they stay out for.

The vessels appear to be still out, either side of the north island tonight. The duration that they spend doing this will be of most interest, before they return to Matochkin Shar.

CPT GEORGIOS S (IMO: 9262936) is making its way back to Kola Bay, via the Irish Sea, today. And it appears to have received a visit from Irish Coast Guard AW-189 EI-IRS (Callsign: CGI117).

Not a shadow fleet vessel, or sanctioned, but Cpt Georgios S (IMO: 9262936) is currently on its way from Murmansk to Iskenderun, Turkey, making what appears from globalfishingwatch.org data, to be its first trip through the Irish Sea, at least since 2012. 👋

*west & east coasts. Some delays in AIS updates from Geolog Peckurov & Bykhov (my tells) but they appear to have moved based on this mornings Sentinels 1 pass.

Scene in ops room of RAF/US air base: "Sir our exquisite intel collection platforms are showing nothing, but, an Irish egg on bsky thinks this looks like a potential Burevestnik test configuration... so do we send a Rivet Joint to the Barents Sea or not?"

As we head towards winter, optical satellite coverage at this latitude, at least from open sources like Sentinel and Landsat is dropping off, so it'll be difficult to get corroborating imagery, e.g. aircraft in flight. So will be leaning on AIS, Sentinel 1 & NISAR.

The half circles within Zone B represent tunnel portals, colours represent my guess at their status from the 2025 Google Earth satellite imagery; red ones appear disused, yellow appear to be maintained, the orange one furthest south - I'm not sure; they worked on it a few years back.
