Have been away for months due to my day job involving dealing with 8 hrs of news per day. I don't want to lose this creative outlet. If you're seeking gamedev/artist/writing community like me, get in touch :)

In Paris I see people hanging out in the evenings, going to cheap art galleries, valuing fashion, enjoying food and talking about ideas. Meanwhile in the US we're devising "hacks" to not engage with art, ingest the bare minimum to live, and become the most efficient personality-free drones possible.

Really a sad way to go through life www.nytimes.com/2025/06/27/b...

I know that anatomy is important to learn and practice as an artist, I think I need to switch focus because just at the thought of more thumbs, fingers and hands I'll go feral. Looking forward to rib cages actually! #art

There is beauty all around us, if we dare to look. (I took this picture to create a study off it in the future. I want to become a better artist for my game.) #Art #photography #gamedev

About the question whether we should make #art in times like these: Personally, my #gamedev project has helped me tremendously over these past months. It doesn't make the pain go away, but it makes me feel like I'm witnessing my own emotions, and growth. I am grateful for that.

I'll say it over and over. I do not believe in gate keeping. I do not believe in pulling up the ladder. I believe in kicking the wall down like the Kool-Aid man, and making room as I go for those who come next. Just because it was hard for me, doesn't mean it has to be hard for anyone else.

I dunno, frankly insane that we were bullied into silence about a genocide and I don’t think we should be bullied into silence about the same state actors bombing a new population of civilians and starting a major world war

www.ft.com/content/d84c... "It took Takahashi six years to make To a T with a team of 12. His personality is everywhere in it [...]" As much as I love that the FT gives an indie TEAM the spotlight, I hate the whole auteur debate, even as a solo dev. You have ALWAYS support in creating a game.

ft.comIn praise of gaming’s eccentric auteurs‘To a T’, which casts you as a schoolboy with no elbows, is rare for being the work of a single-minded creator

You're supported by friends, family, online strangers who give feedback, cheer you on, you talk to other devs, you learn from listening, asking questions, browsing forums. You can be a solo dev, but you can never be truly solo on this quest. You will always be guided by other people's impact.

Also, by labeling this specific game as "eccentric", the article surely doesn't help with the financing aspects. How about "delightfully out-of-the-box", "surreal playfulness", "visionary of the mundane". I'm really happy that games are more covered, I'm just sad that the article dismisses the team

When a book touches my soul, I take a piece of the author into me, into my life, into my experiences, and my way of moving through the world. AI doesn't give you that. It's cold.

The arrest of online fanfic erotica writers (99% young women) in China is still ongoing, some are getting sentenced to 10 years in prison I didn’t see any newer international coverage of this but I saw on Weibo today that more writers are getting sentenced right now amp.scmp.com/news/china/p...

Newsletter: We are in the era of the Business Idiot, where middle management has seized power, breeding out true meritocracy and value-creation in favor of symbolic growth and superficial intelligence. This piece ties together everything I've ever written. www.wheresyoured.at/the-era-of-t...

Thinking back to a Space #LARP where I played a betrayed and grieving police woman. My journalist buddy and I sat at a bar not talking for 15 mins, drinks in hand. Knowing silence. He got up slowly, nodded, looked into my eyes and left with a heavy tap on my shoulder.

Over the last couple of years I've developed a kind friendship with a receptionist at my workplace and it's such a cool thing to support each other due to vibes. We talk mental health, philosophy, life, growth and art. He's a cool dude and I appreciate him.

I went up to a local #book shop which specializes in artbooks, illustrated books etc. and I'm so thankful that these places still exist. I ordered a copy of a book which will fuel my understanding of architecture and I want to befriend the sellers. I want to grow community again. #gamedev
