In this moment of emergency, a lot of people are realizing that they can just… do things. Without people giving them directions or instructions, people are just showing up to escort their neighbors to school, to cook them meals, to share resources & support.

It feels slow not because of facts, but because the doom-narrative drowns out reality. 📉 The truth: solar doubled from 1,000 → 2,000 TWh in just 3 yrs, wind’s surging too. Fossils took decades. The fastest energy leap in history is here—don’t let fear blind you. ⚡🌞 #EnergyTransition #BESS #EVs #LFP

theconversation.comClimate action can feel slow – but the fastest energy leap in history has begunWeaning ourselves off fossil fuels is glacially slow – isn’t it? This pessimistic narrative doesn’t stack up against evidence of very rapid change in the real world.

World, I beg you, please don't associate America's people with our leaders. We hate them. Most of us would kill them if they were left alone in a room with us for five minutes. For legal reasons this is a joke (the legal reason is that I live in a fascist state)

EMERGENCY ACTION Join us we’re actively working to get coalition members on the ground! Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested by the FBI this morning after refusing to allow ICE agents into her courtroom. She was taken to the federal courthouse.

"Homegrowns are next." Not a gaffe—a blueprint. Trump told Bukele he wants to deport U.S. citizens to foreign prisons. That’s not justice. That’s regime logic First: immigrants. Then: legal residents. Now: citizens Liberty doesn’t vanish all at once. It’s dismantled—quietly, legally, deliberately

My favourite library quote is from newsman Walter Cronkite: ‘Whatever the cost of our libraries, the price is cheap compared to that of an ignorant nation’

Thank you - you are all a light in a very dark time. However, It is not a sprint - we are in for a long run. Trump’s endgame? Power, immunity, and total control. The GOP follows out of fear, ambition, and zero moral courage. History warns us: Stay awake. Speak out. #handsoff

We found the artist-made posters of the Syracuse Cultural Workers to be a simple jumping off point. The solutions to many of our modern-day problems (and our strike demands) are often not flashy, super futuristic, or new in terms of process. To build community is inherently anti-capitalistic.

General Strike US@generalstrikeus.bsky.social

But how do you build community… especially in a society that promotes individualism (& capitalism)? We are discussing this now, here!

Prohibition, or at least the activity in the years that followed, can probably be considered one of the most effective collective resistance movements ever. If no one follows the law, and everyone refuses to enforce it… it may as well not exist. Just something to think about.

I had this crazy dream last night where a fascist cult infiltrated and took over the American government… wait, what do you mean it wasn’t a dream–

jamelle@jamellebouie.net

honestly think some of the hesitation here is that no one wants to sound like a crank. i was talking at an event last night and even i felt like a crank while i was speaking!

This Gulf of America shit is so embarrassing. We're being subjected to the worst Boomer tantrum possible. Only instead of a parent going out and buying a dumb car or dating someone half their age they renamed a Gulf.
