The UK economy has been stuck in a slow-moving crisis for 18 years. Wages have stagnated, prices have risen and basic services have been cut – giving rise to a widespread sense that everything is getting worse. If Burnham doesn’t respond, Reform will benefit. substack.com/home/post/p-...

substack.comThe UK’s Slow-Motion Crisis Demands a Rapid-Response BudgetStagnant wages, rising prices and cuts to services – no wonder there’s a widespread sense that everything is getting worse. Will tomorrow’s Budget grapple with the scale of the problem? Unlikely.

Shortsightedness will be our downfall.

Mr Healey - you are an ignorant, short-sighted, fool Have you taken any time to look around you - to see and understand what is happening to our world? There is NO growth on a dying planet www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Denis Healey. “We’ll tax the rich till the pips squeak”. Those were the days

The BBC thinks telling us that the moon might be made of rock, or it might be made of cheese, is quality journalism

Mark Thompson@markreckons.bsky.social

Seriously. This is a big part of the problem. The BBC "both sides"ing absolutely everything. Even stuff like this which is about what our security services know about election interference. It *does not* require any Tufton Street response. At all.

Imagine the headlines in the British media if 5 journalists were arrested in China or Iran.

There's a reason these voices are left out: because the people criticising the motion are racists.

"Green Party members in Brighton voted to adopt a motion declaring Zionism a form of racism... first mainstream UK party to take that position. But in almost all of the coverage that followed, one group has been strikingly absent from the conversation: Palestinians." www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r15...

BREAKING: Caroline Lucas condemns Zack Polanski for making the Greens dramatically more popular than they were under her leadership.

Everything about the Labour Party stinks.

Camden Council's pension fund, under the leadership of Holborn and St Pancras Labour by election candidate Sagal Abdi-Wali, increased its holding of Palantir shares from £276,444 in October 2023 to £3.65m by December 2025 according to Freedom of Information request

Frankly I don't see how anyone who calls themselves a Christian can also call themselves a nationalist. The "catholic" nature of the church, from the greek "katholikos", that occurs in the earliest of Christian creeds, means "universal" and is a statement that Christianity KNOWS NO BORDERS.

Roblee14@vegasdude83.bsky.social

Lets be honest anyone who calls themselves a Christian nationalist should be ineligible for federal office because their beliefs make it impossible to hold an oath to the Constitution which not only calls for freedom of religion but keeping religion & government separate

Btw if you read this and immediately thought “well not all men”… pause for a second. The men I trust are the ones who read what I just wrote and choose to listen, to empathize, to ask questions to better understand. They know they are not the men I am angry about and they don’t need say so.

Paying for things now by taking away future generations' pensions. It's on brand for a Blairite I guess.

I’m pleased that Andy Burnham has committed to building a National Care Service, with free personal care for older people. It is a significant step towards treating care as a right, just as we do healthcare. People who need care, their families and the workers who provide it deserve nothing less.

Personally speaking, defeating fascism would massively improve my quality of life. That's just one of the reasons why I support @zackpolanski.bsky.social for Holborn and St. Pancras.

Saul Staniforth@saulstaniforth.bsky.social

BBC Host: "Zacks talked a lot about Gaza. Thats not a local issue is it. Thats not going to improve peoples lives there" Saying that genocide is bad & we shouldn't be funding, arming or supporting the regime doing it. What a terrible person! How dare he, right?

Of all the blueprints I have read on how to redress the long-term damage austerity and financialisation have inflicted upon Britain's society, this one is the most impressive - and hope inspiring. A must read.

Four years ago tomorrow was the Truss mini-budget. Every day another news story says Britain is under pressure from global instability. Why can’t we just build homes, and clean energy, with secure jobs? Turns out the answer is even better than I thought. See what you think. HostageNation.com

No, no, no, we cannot allow this narrative to take hold. These kids were not killed by AI. They were killed by the American military (including its homeland division ICE). Future American administrations must hold those people to account and not allow any "it was the AI what done it" excuses!

This post is unavailable.

I know this is a concept Americans in particular really struggle with, but if someone gives a child a gun, and that child walks into school and kills all their classmates, WHOEVER GAVE THAT CHILD THE GUN should be thrown in jail.

Yes, they were "wrongly targeted". The important question that every MP *should* be asking but isn't is this: *why* were they wrongly targeted? Was it, by chance, the colour of their skin?

thewallsfell.bsky.social@thewallsfell.bsky.social

The cricketers were "wrongly targeted," imply that if they were asylum seekers they would have been ..."correctly targeted?" You cannot give an inch to these racists and Fascists.

Absolutely, rather than pandering to their stupidity make an example of it; say "ok then" and bring in the army to build a fence around their parish. Don't let anything other than medicine, water and basic food in or out until they reach a trade agreement.

Ok but why are the warnings about AI freaking the sensibles out but NOT 50+ yrs of climate scientists warning that all human life is at risk backed up by *at least* 3 decades of abundant evidence of extreme weather, failing harvests, desertification & areas around the world becoming uninhabitable?

Why is everyone suddenly talking about AI killing us all? The answer: when the AI bubble bursts, which it will, and ordinary people's pensions and savings drop through the floor, the Tech CEOs who caused and profited from the bubble want you to blame the tech, or the regulation of it, not them.
