I’m seeing people reacting by pointing out that he’s obviously wrong. I appreciate that, but it’s also a pointless exercise. The problem isn’t that he’s wrong. The problem is that this is normal in American politics — and it’s been normal for a while.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

That RFK clip is ghastly, but it's totally consistent with the Islamophobia that has been coming out of this administration, including Trump's rhetoric about Abdul El-Sayed. They are all in on the hatred of Muslims because it's a formula that has worked before.

"arabs have contributed nothing to the arts and sciences" is such a funny fucking thing for a bog ape wearing a little suit to say

A serial rapist was elected twice as President, a fact we don't reckon with nearly enough. Now one of two major political parties has been molded in his image, run for and by violent sexual abusers who hate women.

Seeing so many people dunking on Marissa Meyer has been an amusing start to my day. But here's the thing. I have twin daughters. I can't reasonably be expected to know three things about both them without using A.i, right? They aren't even identical.

Both of them are amazing artists. I can't even draw a stick figure properly. For two 13yos who have spent practically every moment of their lives in the same room, they rarely fight. They know they can each be their own person, but also count on each other when they need to.

Yes, I led with a joke. But the thought of people neeing a computer program to tell them things about their children kinda makes me sad. For those kids.

Twin A: 1. She is a naturally gifted student. Unlike her father, she still wants to put the work in to be successful. 2. Speaking of unlike her father, she is a video game wiz. 3. Her competitive drive is through the roof, with no boasting or gloating. She wants to win. For her sake.

Twin B: 1. She has a sense of humor way beyond her 13 years. She has made me legit LOL, and when I L, it's rarely OL. 2. She has an innate sense of fairness and empathy. 3. Her determination towards achieving goals she sets for herself is inspirational.

Not a joke. This literal toddler is too good at a *competitive game* (he's amazing) so the fragile AF league (?) thought something at the intersection of criminalization + calling the people known to endanger Black lives was the appropriate response to this must be white + cis to play sports now

They called the cops on this 3-year-old Black boy because he was kickin the white kids' ass on the soccer field.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

At the grocery store in the iced cream aisle and this ~8yo girl and her mom turn the corner, the child still in her Halloween costume. Old woman with glasses on a chain and a walker.

Tangential to the Cheesecake Factory talk is that their workers are genuinely elite tier 1 operators in the food service industry. I have a friend who manages bars and restaurants and he will instantly hire anyone with Cheesecake Factory experience. They are like the Marines minus the war crimes

This is garbage. It's very easy to say: "My opponent is a creep who wants to inspect your children's genitalia. I think government should mind its own fucking business." Makes me sick that Turek doesn't have the guts or the interest in fighting for the underdogs here.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

found out that my mother in law decided she was aggressively pro trans rights literally by going, I don't know anything about this but everyone who is against trans rights is also against free school lunch, the issue I know and care a lot about, so this must be the correct way to feel about this

In case you’re wondering what the Outkick guy is up to with the Finals credential WNBA PR gave him: He saw two WNBA PR employees sitting at their desks during the national anthem and posted their photo to Twitter and has followed up with additional posts attempting to dox them

Pitch Mr. Perfect@michaelwaterloo.bsky.social

Outkick has been granted a credential for the #WNBA Finals, per source.

Now think about how he has lied or exaggerated every single one of his "accomplishments."

Trump: "You know, the first question -- they have a lion, a snake, a giraffe, and a bear. And they say 'which is the snake?' ... by the time you get to number five a lot of people are left out on the road ... I get no credit for it."

You know what pissed me off about the Ramaswamy ad beyond the obvious grotesqueries? There’s no EVIDENCE disputing Acton’s life story. There are court proceedings backing up her story. And all Ramaswamy’s got is the (accused) mother saying “nu uh” and somehow that’s enough? FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY

Shifting the Overton window so attacking child sexual abuse survivors becomes accepted is one of the more vile things the corporate media has done, and that's saying a lot
