This really makes my day! I really like Bryn's writing, and also what's under the hood of her stories, so I didn't hesitate when I was asked to illustrate this Goatskin story!

I've just had a peek at @remcovans.bsky.social 's art for my story in Mordschlag #1. It's as evocative of mood and emotion as I knew it would be, from Remco. Certainly one of my favourite Goatskin portraits. Find out about Mordschlag Sword and Sorcery Magazine: mordschlag.thearcanist.net

I’m a huge Mass Effect fan, but time and again the fandom has made me cringe. I’d love it to come back but it’s not just the game it’s also team that made it are more important. I dislike the selfish implication that it doesn’t matter who makes it as long as it’s made makes me feel vaguely ill.

Hayes Madsen@solfleet.bsky.social

Does it need to be said that Mass Effect shouldn’t exist without the developers and team that was working on this game? Either they come back and make the game they were, or Mass Effect dies. kotaku.com/mass-effect-...

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

“Kuhle Wampe” was made by among others #Brecht and Ernst Ottwalt. They met each other again as refugees on Thurø in Denmark. Brecht was allowed to stay as his wife Helene Weigel was Jewish. Ottwalt had to move on. He had tasks for illegal apparatus of #KPD. He ended in Moscow. Died in #Gulag 1943

Zum Welttag des audiovisuellen Erbes zeigt das Metropolis-Kino Hamburg morgen, 27.10. 17:30, den Film „Kuhle Wampe“. „Unter enormem polit. & finanz. Druck entstanden, feierte d.

"... you might think, why would I not again be wolf, be some creature large and dangerous enough to offer some threat -- but I thought I could serve better as I was. Anyhow, if you think a horse can't be a dangerous thing, I'll take it you've never met one." K.V. Johansen: Breath and Bone

This is a great excuse to plug the British miniseries FLICKERS (1980), one of the most authentic portrayals of the madcap days of early cinema. Hoskins plays a sleazy small timer who ends up paired with a wealthy woman who needs to cover an illicit affair.

Meine Lektüre des ersten Teils von Pierre Broués "The Revolution and the Civil War in Spain" ist abgeschlossen.

Sound effects records featuring spooky noises were popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s and supplied the soundtracks to countless Halloween parties. Many of the LPs had radio play-style stories on one side and sound effects like screams, groans, creaking doors and clanking chains on the other. #SpookySunday

The Cinema Museum in London is trying to buy its building and they are about 1/4 of the way to their goal. It's a converted Victorian workhouse where Charlie Chaplin lived and worked as a child. Could you share or donate a bit? www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/the-cinema...
