People used to get online famous by saying like, “Uhh yeah, I love making my HOT BEAN JUICE every single morning!!!” But now you have to say like, the Monopoly Man fucked my ass

"From their perspective" is doing so much heavy lifting omfg

Top tech company leaders are meeting with religious leaders to further their own business reasons and not to engage with questions of faith, says Father Paolo Benanti who has been an AI advisor to two popes

You know what's good for when you're already burnt out. Getting roped into helping to run an eight hour event involving a number of extremely old men who do not understand how to use a microphone

This is genuinely probably the most American take I've seen in my ~18 years on the internet

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

Oh my god you were using tinder and someone was a bit weird? That's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny

OCD is such a blind spot wrt my own mental illness because I've had it since i was a toddler so I just forget that it's there. Then I describe a thought pattern to someone and they're like hey man what the fuck are you talking about

Me: yeah I have to avoid thinking about this topic because otherwise it'll poison my brain and make me evil and everyone will be able to tell Them: ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You know defensive driving courses. I would like people to take defensive posting courses. Do not engage with ragebait. Do not hate watch. Early intervention of hitting "not interested" the first time you see some shithead alt right poster. Block on instinct.

At our TTRPG session today our DM essentially said to me "oh...... your character's looking for an older male authority figure to give them guidance? How original for you" And I have to admit he got my ass

The media frames mental illness as this horrible volatile thing that drives people to violence and poses a danger to everyone around them. But the reality is that most of it consists of yelling "NOT NOW" out loud at your OCD in an otherwise empty room

Confirmed I don't have skin cancer which is great. Even better is that when I was leaving the receptionist chased after me and I panicked, but it turns out she's the partner of an academic I helped out last year and she just wanted to express her love for me. Let's go lesbians!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People with mental illness are far more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators, we face high rates of state and institutional violence, abuse, neglect and unlawful restraint. It feels like society only talks about our needs in the context of preventing some appalling and violent crime

Let me make one thing extremely clear. I don't particularly care about advocating for mental health. I care immensely about advocating for mental illness. Other people have made these things distinct so I must as well

Oh boy a horrific national tragedy. I can't wait for everyone to scapegoat the mentally ill and then do absolutely fucking nothing to improve access to care and intervene in cases of vulnerable people becoming a danger to themselves and others

Idk man. I don't fucking know. I beg everyone to be suspicious of reporting that stigmatises us and refuses to engage with prevention strategies. Of all the aspects of me that are marginalised this one feels the most futile

The trouble is that the only people who have enough money to hire me as a freelancer are the exact people who don't understand that a $500 invoice being paid on time is the tipping point between being fine and total financial ruin
