Judges, incl. SCOTUS justices, know there's usually leeway in issuing findings. "The letter of the law" is rarely completely rigid, nor should it be. To claim they're "just interpreting the law" is disingenuous, dangerous, and lacks much needed social responsibility. Axiom: help people.
