For those of you who are old enough to remember this was similar to how the Panama Papers were leaked (a free plugin with a compromised script). Also @rmccue.io got it bang on the nose + www.altis-dxp.com/did-the-uk-b...

There's a surprising number of niche WordPress events at the moment - PressConf in Arizona - LoopConf in London - Enqueue in Sydney - SomeConf in Minnesotta - Checkout Summit in Palermo I feel like I'm probably missing some more?

Those sneaky @patchstack.com-ers have done it again with their LinkedIn header. If you're at MSP Global this week, come say hi at their booth where I'll be fighting them irl about this 😡

We welcomed Than from @humanmade.com and Zeshan from Green Street News on the PublishPress podcast. They told us how they moved over 40,000 articles to their new WordPress site, using local LLMs to categorize all those new posts.

Don't sleep on this opportunity! Contact @rzen.net and join us on 25 Sept!

If you want to come to @loopconf.com and the ticket cost is the only thing standing in your way, please reach out! I will make sure we can meet your needs and include you in the event. The ONLY reason I'm producing the event is to create opportunity for as many WP devs as possible, including you!

It’s fascinating seeing online arguments that, at the root, come down to people not understanding the difference between primary, secondary, and tertiary sources.

Here's my talk on why collective governance can prevent abusive power, and why distributed funding is necessary for collective governance. Thanks to @altctrl.org for inviting me, and to @fairpm.bsky.social for putting these ideas into practice. ❤️

Big thanks to the Bluesky team for shipping this for FAIR 🚀

we've rolled out some small changes to the DID PLC directory which make it possible to register new key types as verificationMethod entries, for non-atproto use cases. (this does not impact the PLC rotation key mechanism itself; that is still limited to P-256 and K-256) have fun building on PLC!

this is a pretty fun project! it is basically a decentralized WordPress plugin package manager, using DID PLC as an identifier and store for package signing keys; and atproto for discovery/indexing of plugins in the ecosystem. github.com/fairpm/fair-...

Today, we’re launching something big for the WordPress community. Say hello to FAIR - a new decentralised package manager for WordPress.

You don't need headless WordPress. It's a waste of money. Ben May runs The Code Company, one of the most successful WordPress agencies. And he spends a lot of time and effort talking people out of building headless WordPress projects.

Wild match - and crazy how even they were all throughout.

It is crazy to me that we built an entire labelling system for recycling which stamps the material type on everything, but then guidance only says “(◕‿◕✿) yes bottles and tubs but not cutlery but yes lids but …” Just tell me if you recycle LDPE or not!

How can you tell if the software and extensions (plugins/themes in #WordPress) have insecure dependencies? Software Bill of Materials. Stay tuned.

I can’t emphasize enough how much accessibility benefits everyone. Ramps, elevators, ventilated air, automatic doors. You caring about accessibility is literally caring about your future. You will become disabled unless you die young. Investing in the disability community is investing in yourself.

p.s. if you’re interested in WP security, we’ve got some great stuff planned at CloudFest this year! Keep your eyes peeled, and meet me and John there!
