Timeline and YouTube recommendations is flooded with reactions to the Ethan Klein allegations and the cancelling of H3H3 but somehow I still don't know what the hell his actual show was even about.

I'm reading Ways of Seeing by John Berger. It's certainly interesting and thought provoking but I think his overall conclusion that we need a Marxist revolution is severely undercutting his actual art analysis, as he is working backwards to make his worldview fit even when it doesn't follow.

All oil painting is about capitalist ownership of the thing depicted, which somehow leads him to describe a painting of a cow as "furniture on four legs" and claim paintings of natural landscapes don't exist. Like what.

If you wanted to buy something in the 90s or early 2000s and it wasn't available in a store near you, you were mostly just fucked.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Dammit, I started up MGSV for the first time in forever and for some reason that nuclear disarmament ending started playing again. Is that just a thing they regularly send out now?

I did these portraits of my characters as RPG classes somewhat in the style of Baldur's Gate portraits, but then never played Baldur's Gate to actually use them. Lol. #ArtSky #digitalart #OC

Browsing #Netflix. Do they realise films were made before 1973? At least old-school video rental shops offered classics going back to the silent era, as well as healthy art, avant-garde, and world cinema sections. I discovered so much that way. There's a narrowing, rather than widening, of culture.

Every time Suicide Squad is on sale at -90% I get the urge to try it out despite its reputation. Then I see the screenshots again and Jesus Christ this is the ugliest game they could have put Harley Quinn in.

Maybe I should pick up that KOTOR run I was doing. I think I stopped after just having rescued Bastilla (and being more attuned to the Light side than she was ✌️).

October 21 1998, Space Station Silicon Valley debuted on the N64 in the Americas! Even though developer, DMA Design, was already working on Grand Theft Auto and Body Harvest, creative director Gary Penn avoided open world for this game partly because "they are a bugger to make"!

Ok I discovered something surreal but really funny. I was googling to see if anyone had found what the Villa paintings in Castlevania 64 were based on, and I found a Reddit thread that had identified some ... but only ones from screenshots that came from *MY* HD Castlevania 64 texture pack.

Like these aren't from the actual game. This is a Castlevania 64 running my old texture pack. I couldn't find the paintings they were based on and wasn't skilled enough to repaint them myself. I could have just told you what they were lol.

I should commit and become the Castlevania 64 counterpart to Quest 64 Official. All the stuff I uploaded about it already keeps showing up everywhere. 😂

The Blair Witch Project developed an extended universe in video games that thanks to crossovers and spin-offs put Blair Witch in the same canon as BloodRayne.

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

Nocturne (1999) was a game about a secret government monster-hunting agency called "Spookhouse". The 1st Blair Witch game was a Nocturne sequel where this agency investigated the Rustin Parr murders. Then Spookhouse's Svetlana was to star in BloodRayne, which instead introduced her sister Rayne.

To me the wildest thing about Richard Riehle's passing is how few people are mentioning Grounded For Life. That show must have been way less popular than I assumed (or everything else he's been in much more so).

The right is trying to be opportunistic with the imagery of European unrest over cost of living issues that both Putin and Trump with his tariffs and war of choice fucking up the global economy are directly responsible for. Really need to control narrative against that.

Black & White was one of the VERY FEW games that got localized with Dutch dubbing (I cannot even think of another one off the top of my head). Hearing a video game in spoken Dutch was absurd enough, and then those damn sailors starting singing ...

Ok I guess I'm watching VisionQuest. I'm not quite sold on the story yet (the Wanda's kids arc is getting out of hand), but a contemplative character examination of the rebuilt Vision with Paul Bettany, James D'Arcy and James Spader? Yes please.
