How is evidence of Trump being "in on" a "CONSPIRACY TO ABUSE AND TRAFFIC WOMEN," WITH JEFFREY EPSTEIN, not screaming front-page news everywhere?? NEW, CREDIBLE RAPE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST TRUMP. TODD BLANCHE WITNESS TAMPERING. WHAT.
🚨 A bombshell new House Judiciary Democrats report details allegations from 11 women linking Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, including five who accuse Trump of sexual assault. The report also alleges a sweeping DOJ cover-up. We broke down the explosive findings.
"Shuldiner declined to share the complete draft list of schools that have been identified by the district as possible targets for a merger." What are we even doing here?! This is no way to run a public school district.

I emailed Patrick Healy, assistant managing editor for standards and trust at NYT, to ask why their story about a House report with new details of rape allegations against the President of the United States included neither those details, nor a single use of the word "rape." archive.is/1s9AM

How racist and desperate do you have to be to look at this and say, “Got ‘em!”?
The White House put an AI video of Hillary, Chuck, Hakeem, Kamala, and Ilan jamming out to The Gap Band’s “Outstanding” like a Tiny Desk concert and described Democrats as “washed up,” but damn they never looked cooler. Total self-own.

The millionaires tax can help backfill some of this and keep our hospitals open.
We warned President Trump and the MAGA Congress against passing the Big Betrayal Bill, knowing it would hurt hospitals in every part of our state. A new report shows Washington's hospitals will lose $6 billion due to their Medicaid cuts. That is devastating to our healthcare system.

There are only two explanations for the NYT's habit of presenting GOP operatives and donors as true swing voters: 1. Their reporters and editors are somehow incapable of running a simple Google searches, showing just a staggering level of journalistic incompetence 2. They want to the GOP to win

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

Even though these are national and global layoffs, one should read its timing as Microsoft’s effort to stop WA’s millionaires tax, as right-wingers will blame that tax for these layoffs despite there being no actual connection.
How is this even a question? The US auto industry is going to die if it does not convert to EVs, it will simply become uncompetitive. Americans are suffering from high gas prices and need ways to afford EVs. If Dems hold back, they'll be cooked too come 2028.

People think that IZ requirements force developers to take lower profit margins. In reality, developers have to deliver competitive returns to investors so IZ means nothing gets built until market rate rents are high enough to cover development costs *and* the necessary cross subsidy for BMR units.
Wise advice here, especially the CA recommendations
my brief voter guide on some of the most important races in the country: -vote for all democrats, obviously -vote YES in the NYC ballot measures -vote for Nithya Raman in LA -vote for Scott Wiener in CA-11 -vote for Ben Allen for CA insurance commish -vote YES on prop H & RTM for Bay Area transit

We have a lot of work to do to get more housing built. #waleg has passed some good bills, but especially with high interest rates, a lot more from them is needed to clear out zoning and permitting hurdles, and to stop NIMBYs from blocking new infill housing.
Without faster-than-expected housing growth in Seattle since 2019, the broader Puget Sound region would be behind on an overall goal of adding around 620,000 new units of housing through 2044. www.theurbanist.org/most-puget-s...

Y'all in the past two years, Texas closed 170 public schools and the state MIGHT GO BLUE OVER IT.
Just a friendly reminder, the terms rightsizing, school mergers, school consolidation are simply Ed Reformist, corporatized terms for school closures, which do not help a district in financial distress (looking at you, Seattle Public Schools).

Come on D5! I voted for Nilu Jenks this afternoon. Now you go!
I'm Nilu Jenks, and I'm running because blue cities need to show they can govern. North Seattle has been left behind, and the people of D5 deserve as much attention, programming, and resources as the rest of the city. I’ll work hard everyday to change that, and I would be honored to earn your vote.
Pretty wild to see Seattle Public Schools superintendent Ben Shuldiner invoke MLK to justify closing 10 schools as "the moral thing to do." His email did not make a data or research case for closures. SPS enrollment has shrunk in recent years, but the overall number of school-age children has grown.
Another excellent election result tonight! The forces of democracy triumph again over fascism. More inspiration for us in the US for next week’s election!
An absolutely joyous moment - and an inspiration to us all here in the US
The WA GOP is pushing sprawl hard. Meanwhile tree people in Seattle enable that sprawl by blocking infill housing - even though sprawl is *far* more destructive to forests, rivers, and thus to the salmon and the orcas that depend on the salmon.
On KUOW this week former AG Rob McKenna lamented the low availability of housing stock in unincorporated King County and suggested potential expansion of the urban growth boundary to open up land. Unincorporated KC is meeting its growth target & most growth is happening in cities. This is GOOD.

Vote NO on I-638 (and its twin I-001, and its sibling I-645 - the MAGA attack on Washington State)
This is horrific. And unsurprisingly the work of a "conservative" multimillionaire. Other adjectives might include creepy, prurient, dictatorial and abusive, not to mention, of course, transphobic. Once more with feeling: we need to get the money out of politics. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

I found no real way to integrate it into the learning process without it invading and suffocating other parts of the learning process. My observation was that students who frequently used it exhibited lower self-esteem, resiliency, and creativity than their peers who didn’t use it.

As I was saying. A total catastrophe for our friends north of the border.
I’ll never understand non-right wing voters who think they can choose a right-wing party, or a smaller left-wing party, to register their discontent with a center-left party and think everything will turn out fine.

I'm all for more service from PDX-EUG and a restored Pioneer train that serves eastern Oregon (both mentioned in article). But I also want a train to Bend, a train along the I-5 corridor to Medford/Ashland, and a train to somewhere on the coast (Tillamook?)
