attempting to gain a new generation of fans, george thorogood has changed the chorus to "one gluten free bourbon, one surfside, one probiotic for gut health, and one dsa membership please"

I knew I was old when my targeted ads started recommending colonoscopies but now I just moved up to “you may be eligible for compensation if you had a colonoscopy” targeted age bracket

I’ve thought about this. For 100 billion I will choose They Might Be Giants for my biopic topic. John snd John and each of the touring band members. This includes basically every member of the Miami Horns. Unfortunately my directorial debut runs over budget so I have to condense all the Dans.

Sony has decided to give me 100 billion dollars to make 31 biopics about the members of Black Flag. People are scoffing at this idea and calling it "quite possibly the worst use of money in history" but I'll win over the public once they see my Jim "Kansas" Dearman film I swear

I run over budget because Graham Maby allows me to include Joe Jackson in my marvel universe and I make a movie for each track on Look Sharp

The Miami Horns introduce the universe to the E Street Band. In the end TMBG is a vehicle to my passion project: Mad Dog Vini Lopez.

everyone complains that paywalls prevent them from reading a good story but I thank paywalls when they prevent me from reading a terrible story

Going to camp outside the Barnes and Noble that used to be a Modell’s just in case they get any Wildcard Winner merch in

interesting macos quirk (bug??) I ran in to. folders with names containing a . don't display a tag color in finder. the color displays next to name but not the folder itself.

for most of the 5th inning I was hearing the game audio along with a LOUD soft rock instrumental. as if the music from commercial break never stopped playing. I was closing browser tabs trying to figure out what was auto playing on my computer before I realized it was in the peacock audio

I went to a fancy restaurant for dinner. Parked before valet service started. Leaving I see there is a Rolls Royce parked on either side of my Nissan Rogue. Before I get to car the valet runs up, tells me to be careful getting in to my own car. “I’m sorry, but the car owner asked me to” he said.

the Jets looked like a professional football team yesterday, for the first time in forever. normally, Woody Johnson would follow that up with something stupid, like calling Ed Sheeran about Macklemore. could the "same old jets" curse actually be broken? time will tell

I did a somewhat deep dive into the recent OpenAI and Anthropic "hacks" for an upcoming interview. IMO, the AI companies are better off running with the "rogue AI" story because the real story is actually pretty embarrassing. Like making your Wi-Fi password "wifi" embarrassing. 🧵

25 years ago, firefighter Richie Iannucci [pictured, right] from Queens disappeared, never to be spoken about again. Presumably lost his life in the Towers. Tragic.

this column describes how obviously inconsistent kean's campaign messaging is. it captures the feelings that I had when I first saw his ads about saving health care. there is no honest good record to run on, it's disingenuous at best.

insidernj.comKean, Jr.’s Entire Campaign Now Rests on a Single Word - Insider NJThat word is contempt. For us, the voters in CD7. How so? Kean, Jr.’s campaign is a four-legged stool. One leg is the claim that he “fixed” healthcare. Another leg – Kean, Jr.’s claim that he is stopp...

tom kean running ads about how he brought down drug prices with a tiny footnote indicating it's referring to HR1 ("one big beautiful bill"). running on the "good" part of that bill means he's gotta own everything in it that he voted for. he should be pressed about it every day.

I was 18 when the first harry potter book came out. never read a page or saw a film. I've always been suspicious of anyone that got into the series as an adult especially the fucking dorks that would wear wizard robes and get mad that kids were at barnes and noble. I've never been proven wrong

I was at this game. I remember walking out. People cheering, high-fiving strangers, and strolling down River Ave with the biggest smiles, still processing exactly what we just saw. My older brother kept our tickets for safekeeping. Now, guess which one of us managed to save every stub from the 90's!

someone told me that I am a garbage human being and I began to feel remorse for my actions. Then I remembered that person also said that Dolly Party and Fauci should be in jail and I realized which one of us is actually the garbage human being

Now that Howard 101 is gone I have a big decision to make. Preset #2 has been 101 on each Sirius radio I've had for 20 years. Road Dog Trucking, you are getting promoted

CNN had an interesting show about doomsday preppers last night. One guy said his worst fear is that society collapses and then a mother and child come to his bunker pleading for milk. He can’t help them without risking his survival and talked extensively about shooting her if they did not leave.

I don’t think doomsday prepping makes you a bad person. But I do think some portion get into prepping because it allows them to fantasize about shooting women. What else are they gonna do after failing a law enforcement exam?

I posted my memory of the great Atlantic and pacific tea company just before Trump said he wants to change the name of the oceans. I hope I didn’t cause this

Everyone in the store heard it. Even woke up the manager sleeping in his office but be didnt care. I worry that my actions directly led to the downfall of the great Atlantic and pacific tea company. I have mostly followed industrial equipment safety protocols ever since.

the loudest sound I ever heard was the noise of a trash compactor crushing a metal shopping cart. The cart was missing a wheel and the stoner Deli guy said we should throw it in the trash chute. The sound of snapping metal reverberated through the entire store and i thought it was going to explode

This memory came to me when I was recently reading the local police blotter and saw a name I recognized but couldn’t immediately place

what if an entire baseball team all selected the national anthem as their walk up song? I think the defense would tire out from facing the flag so much

Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear is a good documentary. I hadn’t understood how much of his life has been shaped by grief. Helpful, I think, to learn from.

My hot take is that blink 182 should be in the rock and roll hall of fame and that Travis will also eventually get inducted for everything else he has contributed to

Sometime in 1998 I was eating dinner with friends in Tillet Hall when someone asked “did you hear that the drummer for the aquabats is now in blink 182?”

any aviation buffs familiar with C-FBKB from kenn borek air? it's been flying a pattern over NJ all morning. not uncommon to see planes doing aerial surveys but this sticks out because it is normally based in alaska. I wonder what the specialized need or equipment is.
