Here's my standing offer, even for folks I don't know. If you want to try Linux I will help you. I will give, freely of my time and do the best I can. If you don't like it we'll shake hands and walk away without any ill will. Here's my promise: I will NEVER try to convince you to use Linux.

One of the weird side effects from dropping ~57 lbs on Mounjaro that I didn't expect is how freaking cold I get. It's only in the 60s in the morning right now and I'm in a hoodie. This used to be shorts and tshirt weather for me.

@teamtalaricohq.bsky.social and @jamestalarico.bsky.social here are more examples on how to not throw any Texans under the bus. Do better.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

if you're unable to use a public bathroom without demanding to see everyone else's genitals, you're free to hold it until you get home. don't make your weird ass hangups everyone else's problem

The fairness doctrine had absolutely nothing to do with truth in media. Right wing hacks already had syndicated shows with actual Nazis as guests and it didn't regulate the shows at all, it regulated the stations who had run a public interest program at 5:30 on Sunday morning to comply.

BevBall@bevball.bsky.social

there was once a fairness doctrine Reagan got rid of that now making money is the only doctrine the owners can lie about any thing and the deliberately uneducated population believes all the lies

I just did what might be one of the biggest mistakes this year. I cleaned out the cord box and threw away 75% of what had collected this year. Everything else is now organized by what type of cord it is, all are even properly wrapped with nice rubber cable ties to prevent tangling.

@jamestalarico.bsky.social @teamtalaricohq.bsky.social take note. Walk back the weasel words and transphobic responses, stop taking the bait. Stand up for Texans who need representation.

Rep. Zooey Zephyr@zoandbehold.bsky.social

Let's go, Sam Forstag! That's how you stand up for trans people on the national stage. If congressional candidates in western Montana—one of the most competitive House races in the entire country—can stand up for trans folks in every aspect of our lives, democrats everywhere should take note.

You’re right. He’s a fascist. But the conservative movement gives cover, AS IT ALWAYS HAS, to fascists because they share the same social goals. It bypasses the cognitive filters in your brain and leads you to in-group identify with fascists. It’s deliberate.

Donald Trump is not a conservative.

One of the kids didn't notice an extension cord in the door of the upright freezer in the garage two nights ago. Someone discovered it in the morning. So now I'm buying door sensors for the freezer and fridge/freezer. That's 50 bucks but food we lost was way more expensive than that.

I want to talk about a TTRPG idea for a minute but before I get into it let me state that for the purposes of this idea I am a PF2E remaster guy and am not really interested in building this for another system or using another system instead.

I'd like to figure out if there's anyone else out there interested in something like this. It's still in the idea phase but I do have all the tools necessary to build it out. I'd have to learn Foundy more than I already know but I'm willing to do that.

I just think a system where you could plug in various one shots but has a hook that would keep players interested might get some traction. I have about zero reach on here but if you happen to see this, feel free to let me know if it's at least interesting.

There is some permanence though. Running quests for the adventurers hall grants scrip that can be used to upgrade lodgings in way that give the PC buffs. You buy a better bed with scrip and you're more rested, you get a small circumstance bonus to healing and so on.

I'm thinking of building this out in FoundryVTT as a PF2E module that you could plug in your own one shots into or buy cheap packs of one shots that I'd produce. This would be a labor of love since I refuse to use AI for this but before I sink my time into this

The idea is an adventurers hall concept where the PCs live at the hall and earn their keep taking missions from a mission board. It's designed around one shot adventurers but for a sort of static group (the group that has a player that didn't show up) so the PCs remain the same every time.

There isn't an overarching plot for the PCs to chase down but it does advance in levels, money, equipment, and so on. If a player doesn't show and you drag this out their PC in this world is assumed to be on a quest with another group so we advancement happens for them too.

I have this idea for a weeks when not everyone shows up or for a rotating group. It's sort of troupe play but has some underlying mechanics. I'm working on it for my groups because I'm in two games which are both every other week so someone not showing means not playing for a month with that group.

This is why my pinned post is what it is. This is why I don't criticize people for picking any OS. TikTok is currently full of people whinging about Windows or Linux and they're all, mostly, confidently wrong. It's here too, to be fair.

I am absolutely a full time Linux user, I make my living from it, I run it everywhere. I don't care if you do or don't. I have my reasons and you have yours. But always remember: every OS sucks.

This is my neighbor across the street who just had 4 healthy trees removed (you can only see two stumps here I think) because they are living in the house to flip it think that it'll improve the value. You can see the gorgeous trees up and down the street at the other houses.

This is going to wildly increase the cooling cost and I'm unsure the HOA approved it to begin with and if they didn't that's going to be a world of shit for them. I already don't like them but this was too much. I'm dumbfounded by this

There were three trees in the front and another in the backyard. Old trees, I'd guess by the stump you can see that they were over 80 years old and entirely healthy. It's so gross.

Third Reality just released a 100w equivalent zigbee bulb and I'm stoked. Soon all of my lights will be zigbee and the 2.4 ghz congestion will be a thing of the past for most of my automations.

Helping my son move today by being the emotional support father figure as I can't do stairs at the moment while carrying things. Technically I can do down but 3 or trips would prevent me from getting back up them.

This one is even worse than the ignorant posts that claim elimination of the FD was the reason Rush was successful. This BSkyer thinks the FD would have somehow applied to Fox News. They also blocked anyone disagreeing with them faster than I've ever seen.

Dear Random Website, No I will not be turning off my ad blocker. Your lies about turning it off creating an optimal experience are simply laughable. I will however turn off JavaScript for your URL and read the article anyway if I care enough to bother. Sincerely, Me

Highly recommend, this series was absolutely amazing.

When I wrote Play of Shadows decastell.com/book/play-of..., I began with a script format. It was liberating to focus on dialogue and settings! That first draft truly opened new doors. #FridayVibe #Writing 🎭✍️

I almost missed A Day With Dad at my 7th grader's school thanks to ADHD. Luckily the school is very understanding and overlooked the fact that I missed the sign up deadline and let me in anyway. My kid thought I couldn't come and was both confused and excited when I walked into class.

Cops are great

Drew Harwell@drewharwell.com

Five cops in Indianapolis were just criminally charged with abusing Flock to spy on their ex-wives, their wives' ex-partners and women they met on duty. Audit was triggered by us at the @washingtonpost.com, the prosecutor said. From last month: wapo.st/4yfNHng

Alright I think some mutuals MIGHT be interested but I am thinking about running a PF2E campaign on Foundry every other Sunday evening. Which AP is still undecided but I have the bandwidth. I need two more players but could handle up to three. DM if interested.

I can't even get invited to sex parties much less advance my career with them... (It's a bad joke, I am well aware of that)

Faine Greenwood@faineg.com

If you get why it’s bad when people feel *pressured* to attend sex parties and engage in other sexual behavior to advance professionally, then you understand the core problem with the rationalist AI Silicon Valley culture.
