A youth (late teens/early twenties) was guessing bands on YouTube. Said Radiohead but the band was Weezer. Host said, “Close!! Same vibe!” Am I wrong to make stankface to this answer? Like… no; they’re not close nor are they the same vibe.

I grew up around church folk who claimed the civil war was about states’ rights and not slavery (Narrator: “It was about states’ right to own slaves.”), but many of the same church folk are part and parcel with this administration’s tyranny.

Military troops shouldn't be policing our communities.

Twice in less than a week, I have seen artists’ renderings of Stephen King and my brain interpreted them instead as Janet Reno. What did Janet do to my brain as a child that imprinted her so strongly on my psyche? This says far more about me than it does about the art I saw.

For as much as they claim to hate communism, they’re certainly taking a lot of pages out of the Soviet Union’s playbook.

They are building a Propaganda State. They are cooking the books on job creation. Now they are rigging death numbers so no one knows how many people die because of their attacks on vaccines and science.

Passed a car stopped in the middle of the lane today in a residential area. Driver started to creep forward as a I passed and then followed me through a couple turns. True crime instincts had me on hyper alert but it was fine. Why do I give myself anxiety triggers for fun??

Elevated and singing the Full House theme song: J&Me: 🎶”The milkman, the paperboy—“🎵 J: 🎵“—even MTV!”🎶 Me: “—the evening T—what?” J: 🎶“And even MTV.”🎵 Me: 🤔 “*The eve-en-ing TV.” J: “Look it up.” Me: “If you’re right…😤”

In speculative language development news: I feel like the invention of the transporter would lead to a steep decline in the casual use of "wish you were here" as a message sign off. Do you? Better be sure, I'm a poured coffee and button push away, friendo.

My record on Palestine speaks for itself. I’m proud of it. One of the strongest in Congress. I throw down for pro-Palestine candidates. Largely unrecognized work. That’s fine. Disagreements are fine, too. But if you want to toss all that for 1 half assed MTG stunt, be my guest. I know where I stand.

And infamous “Christian” financial “advisor” D*ve R*msey includes off-shore tax sheltering as a must in his FPU program. Guess that whole thing Christ said about “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s” was only applicable to poor folk.

Hey, remember when the Panama Papers were released and they showed how basically every wealthy person on the planet was avoiding taxes by offshoring their money and nothing was done about it except the reporter who broke the story was murdered with a car bomb?

Ex-farm worker here. We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing. Not true AT ALL. Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are. The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour. At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

Remembering Chevalière d'Éon for Pride. A transgender woman in the 1700s who was also a spy and who turned double agent, extorted an entire monarchy to get her gender marker changed, and lived her life as a woman in a time when such was thought impossible. We have always been here.

I've had a weird installation issue with Microsoft Mahjong for quite awhile and only just fixed it. Interesting that ALL the ads before and during matches are for: alzheimers, erectile dysfunction, age-related memory issues, orthopedic shoes for age 60+ and SS/Medicare. How old does MS think I am? 😅

Okay, the The Dragon Republic (Kuang) has me thoroughly invested. I’ve chugged through probably 400 pages in the last two days and hopeful the next installment will be available soon. In other reading news, Jade City (Lee) is currently awaiting my return once I finish this one.

Getting ready to start The Dragon Republic by RF Kuang—hoping I can find a better connection with Rin in this one, but maybe that’s the point? I don’t know; she was very unlikable for me in The Poppy War and difficult to root for which always makes novels a slog for me.

Then, after my final, I made a point to tell him how much I’ve enjoyed the class and he said I was the ideal student and he looks forward to having me in more classes. (AND I ACED THE FINAL cough coughafterbonusattendancepointscoughcough)

Perfection

While the gospels say that Judas led the Romans to Jesus, a new theory is gaining traction with some Biblical scholars. There is evidence, some say, that Judas merely shared Christ's location on an insecure group chat that accidentally included several Roman officials and journalists.

Q: "How do you respond to Governor Newsom?" Sen. Van Hollen: "I think Americans are tired of elected officials or politicians who are all finger to the wind...Anybody who can't stand up for the Constitution and the right of due process doesn't deserve to lead."

Saturday morning (29 Mar 25) in Maine, the sun rose with an unusual appearance, as if it had "horns of fire." This was because a partial solar eclipse was in progress, covering about 85% of the sun's disk at the time. This image was captured by Fabrizio Melandri of Monticello.

I, for one, welcome the “abundance” fight. It shows the left can fight Trumpism while wrestling with how we can be better than we’ve been. I have no interest in “actually the government has been doing great” liberalism.

In studying some severe weather events of yesteryear, I'm reminded that it took me until my 20s to realize that what many of the Missourians I grew up around pronounced as the "boothill" was in fact the "bootheel". I assumed Boot Hill was a known sight and never thought to ask otherwise, lol.
