Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

Having the pictures of these two men here really helps clarify things. After all, they clearly aren't worried about being kidnapped by ICE, shot by police, having their rights stripped away, or inequality.

Is there any historical parallel to Israel’s indoctrination of US Jews to the extent they would not only support a genocidal govt abroad but also vote against domestic liberal allies?

🧵🧵🧵 The NY Times posted a 15-minute video today in which I got to tell NYT what’s wrong with its coverage. They said they saw my critical posts on Bluesky and invited me to do a video with them to air my grievances. Weird, right? I didn’t hold back. I blasted their sanewashing of MAGA extremism.

why does the media repeatedly demand Abdul El-Sayed answer for everything Hasan Piker says because of the time they did an event together, but not demand every Republican candidate answer for stuff Elon Musk, the largest GOP donor in '24 and '26, says?

After they are done with the Haitians the chains are for us

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.

I think you're forgetting an important distinction. Vance, Yarvin and Thiel are all white

Gil Durán@gilduran.com

Every progressive gets chased around about their relationship to Hasan Piker. Has ONE reporter ever asked JD Vance about his embrace of the insane and anti-democratic ideas of Curtis Yarvin? Or about his relationship with democracy-hater Peter Thiel? The imbalance is stark.

The irony of course is that Zionism was conceived as an answer to antisemitism, and most Jewish supporters still see it that way. But when you yoke the fortunes of a small, hyper-visible global minority to the actions of a belligerent pariah state, it can cause dangerous blowback

Private prisons making $1.4 billion charging corrupt ICE bureaucracy $307,000 “per bed” as top 15 cops in San Francisco make average of $700,000 is why shifting resources from systems of incarceration to systems of care is one of the most popular policies in 40 years of polling.

I’m on vacation but I gotta say, as much fun as it is to debate woke1 and Hasan Piker, the Trump administration is currently engaged in mass murder on the high seas as surely as any serial killer or lynch mob. And viewed from the distance of vacation, The Discourse doesn’t seem to give a shit.

For years now, Dems and others who once cared about BLM and Black causes in general have quietly abandoned the cause. It was a defiance that was coded and hidden, in attempts to return to the status quo without being too obvious. Now it's just full throated, unabashed abandonment. Explicit.

I personally think it's more embarrassing to misunderstand and/or misrepresent the "defund" movement's demands than to support them. I refuse to feel ashamed for wanting to pour resources into care and life giving institutions instead of cages and killing.

THREAD. Contrary to what you are being told, 40 years of polling have established that shifting money away from police/prisons toward social services is one of the most popular public policies among *all* political demographics. But it's not just that, it goes way deeper.

THREAD. You should ask yourself who at the New York Times made the editorial decision to use the term "moderates" to describe a group of people who have some of the most factually indefensible and extreme position in the history of post World War II politics. And then ask why.
