Every progressive gets chased around about their relationship to Hasan Piker. Has ONE reporter ever asked JD Vance about his embrace of the insane and anti-democratic ideas of Curtis Yarvin? Or about his relationship with democracy-hater Peter Thiel? The imbalance is stark.

There are a few reasons for this. Vance is already the sitting VP; if AES wins, no one will ask him about Piker again. Vance didn't appear on a campaign stage with Thiel, merely took his money. Piker is a media figure who courts controversy and thus always is saying something new and spicy.

There's a commonly-held view that Vance is more reasonable than Trump, and therefore less destructive. This is dangerously superficial. He routinely applies a patina of rationality on top of ideas that are downright sociopathic. If have no doubt that his views on democracy are aligned with Thiels.

I can chew gum and walk at the same time. I vote for & contribute to Democrats exclusively. And I don’t want antisemites and Mao & Castro fanboys headlining events for Democrats. I question the judgement and fitness of Dems who choose to campaign with such people. It’s not hard to hold both thoughts

Due respect, but given how Piker got himself into the news today, AES did correctly. David Duke has said similar things about Jews, which is why people are up in arms. Stop with the "wattabot" nonsense, and admit that Piker created a huge mess for AES when he said that.

Hasan said that the conflation of American Jews with Israel is antisemitic and needs to be considered unacceptable, because that antisemitism endangers American Jews. David Duke has never said anything like that.

And this is what they misconstrued as AWS distancing from Piker: “…nobody speaks for this campaign besides me and my campaign spokespeople. And while politicians & pundits try to make this race about a Twitch streamer, we’re going to be talking about gas, groceries, good schools, and healthcare.”

This article is full of other El-Sayed and Piker smears and that one quote that has no relation with what the headline is alleging Abdul’s campaign did. Politico is owned by Axel Springer, a company part owned and run by a German white supremacist.

Kinda obvious now, isn't it Fox News mentions him for their bigot viewers to feast on at a huge rate A lot more than they do the Epstein Files Except for his chats with mostly the young on his Twitch streaming, his influence is not that much But they want him to be the Bett Noire of the left

They do not ask JD, or any of them, questions because no one holds Republicans to standards. It's only Dems that are held to the highest of standards while Republicans skate free.

Add in Vance's trip to Hungary to stump for Victor Orban (which failed for Victor). Nothing beats supporting Europe's A-1 authoritarian leader.

Not like us. 🤷‍♀️. They get free passes from the RW-owned media. And Piker is not worth the trouble, not a critical thinker and evidently antisemitic.

Maybe some people should start pushing back on this. And hang with Musk, a flat out Nazi who is trying to start race wars in other countries and is ok with the murder of immigrants and ostensibly citizens who are minorities in service of establishing white nationalist governance. Answer for that.

I mean actual elected Republican officials say racist and bigoted garbage on a near daily basis but I’ve never heard any Republican being interviewed if they condone anything Nancy Mace or Randy Fine say. I guess Islamophobia is okay.

well put, the double standard is pretty blatant and wrong, fuck that. with that said, most persuadable voters don't actually know who piker is, let alone gaf in general. frankly i think this is one of those cases where the gop can be allowed to bark up the wrong tree

Probably because there is no apparent division in Republican ranks over embracing Yarvin. I submit the political media is not so much deciding what's important to know about candidates but looking where there are divisions to report on.

I mean, there are neo nazis right now in the White House all while the WH continues to block the release of the Epstein files & the Beltway media does not ask any Republican about these things. But I'm told Piker is the extreme one.

I’m not some big Piker fan. And I couldn’t care less if you don’t like him. But it is really fucking weird when liberals cannot contain their fury over some lefty podcaster… but barely make a peep about Republican white supremacists, conspiracy theorists, and grifters on Trump’s staff.

Every progressive needs to answer every Piker question exactly this way. Answer the question you wish you'd been asked, and viciously attack your opponents with every opportunity. Control your own narrative; don't let anyone else dictate it.
