You'll note that the very same people who insist Zionism means different things to different people will also insist that the USSR was the only possible expression of socialism.

I don't accept soft Hindutva is a good thing. So, no, I am not accepting soft Zionism as a good thing. No gradation of ethnonationalism is a good thing particularly when it has its hands on the levers of state.

But inside my heart, I find my work own past work alien and larger than life to me now. The words I'd written, I no longer remember their toil, the shape of them against my tongue, mind and body. They might as well be written by a creature of another plane. So I despair, without memory, without hope

Catching measles does not make your immune system stronger… it does the exact opposite. It can wipe out your immunity (both natural and vaccine related) to all kinds of diseases. It’s a deadly and disabling disease that we know how to prevent. Get your vaccine. It saves lives.

Measles doesn't stop harming people when the rash goes away. Measles can damage the immune system, causing "immune amnesia" for up to five years. Measles outbreaks this year and last could leave thousands vulnerable to other infectious diseases. www.cidrap.umn.edu/measles-outb...

I'm very called these days to make stuff around my work; inspirations, where I began and what I do, analysis and what not. perhaps not the best writerly thing to do, to pull back the curtain too much, but I think I will do it

I maintain that the best retellings draw blood. they are intentional and precise, finding just the right bone to slide under. They are necrotic abberations, wearing the skin of something you loved once. Above all, they are not afraid to fail

Rukman Ragas is an absolutely unparalleled voice on sensual violence and the intimate violation of colonialism. The last line made my chest tight. A truly astounding poem.

this is one of those poems that makes you really really really mad (complimentary) and upset (admiringly)

Rice Farmer is Lia's most stunning story to date (and you should believe me because I've read a lot of stunning Lia stories)

The Odyssey, while visually quite stunning, felt oddly Christian/Puritan in its sensibilities. I might write up in detail later, but several of the narrative choices felt bizarre to me; Odysseus entire personality being Wifeguy, Circe stripped of allure, and the ride off into sunset.

I do not understand how an epic that is basically travel, eat, fuck, rinse and repeat became so de-sexed and puritan. This is unfortunately not about a complicated man, for Odysseus is a simple man with one want. Interpreting Odysseus solely as traumatised war veteran felt very American.

Moonwife is about longing and desire and wanting the moon so much that you'd kill for her -- or kill her. If you've looked up and wished for the moon, I wrote this for you.

"Moonwife", my story where the moon is a lesbian and you should try to kill her, is out today with @tasavvurnama.bsky.social ! tasavvurnama.com/moonwife/

Still looking for my secondary world fantasy to sweep me off my feet, so if you have one, please send it to Otherside? I like stories that feel brutal and sharp, beautiful prose, and audacious worldbuilding. Above all, I'm looking for ambition rather than stories that play within an existing canon
