I've changed, I did some LIGHT research on this. I was wrong. I was most likely misremembering an interview when the song first came out where Matthew may have been annoyed and adjusting to the sudden popularity. You've made me a better man today John Moe.

Lately I've been thinking a lot about how after the 2004 election Karl Rove was chirping about a "permanent Republican majority," and four years later Democrats had an almost 80 seat majority in the house, 60 Democratic Senators, a female Speaker and a Black President. A change is gonna come.

Who died and made you king of the words?

Trump: “I used to call them the fake news, but…I have to be a little more respectful of the media than that. So now I call them the artificial news. I took artificial off the word intelligence, and I call it super intelligence...Artificial means fake, so I call them the artificial media.”

I suspect those who've speculated are right. Trump went ballistic on round one of the QatarForce One story because underneath it was this pretty humiliating episode of Trump getting smuggled out of Turkey in a food cart. And he'd do anything to stop that from getting out.

This week I’ve seen people complain about having to tolerate children in grocery stores, movie theaters, and libraries. As if kids could learn how to become members of the public whilst being segregated from that same public

"This might be unpopular but I'd like to discriminate against an entire class of people" If this is you, I hope the next 500 books you try to read are a disappointment.

I’m not all that comforted by the fact that the president‘s plan to steal the midterms is incoherent.

cooked, low energy, things of that nature in all seriousness: I’m not going to say we aren’t in trouble because we are obviously in trouble but whining about the SAVE Act is not the act of someone with a coherent plan to steal the elections and when he tries it’s going to be a haphazard shitshow

This article is well-researched and expertly written. There are satellite images and time-lapse photos. And it only exists because the president clings to a preposterous lie. How much productivity has our economy lost due to Trump’s BS? wapo.st/3REsxis

In 2021 I said GOP Senators should act as if their vote on the J6 impeachment would be the one of the first items in their obituary. I was wrong. Graham shouted “count me out!” in the middle of the night after the insurrection, but voted to acquit a few weeks later. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/12/u...
