A season of extremes, thus far

How has your favorite NFL team performed this season? Here’s a chart looking at each team’s production on offense and defense using @pfn365.bsky.social’s metrics:

THE BACKSTREET BOYS CIRCA 1997: Hey do you have any hockey jerseys to wear for this photoshoot WARDROBE DEPARTMENT: Hockey jerseys? Ahhh let's see. Only real basic stuff. The Hull Olympiques of the QMJHL. The Kentucky Thoroughblades of the AHL. Sorry I don't have anything weirder or rarer

Injury updates from Sean McVay: Poona Ford ruptured his triceps, out for season Kobie Turner sustained a groin strain, expected to miss "handful of weeks" Blake Grupe tore his ACL, out for season Davante Adams ruptured his semitendinosus (a hamstring muscle), out 6-10 weeks

Something that’s jumped out to me watching Joe Brady’s offense this year: The Bills are *shredding* teams when they throw to their running backs. 0.56 EPA/play!

The past defence needs some work, but the offense has been humming, leading the league in scoring at 32.8 per game even without DJ Moore. Points scored: 1. Bills 197 2. Saints 178 3. Cardinals 178 4. Raiders 162 5. Cowboys 159

If you can get into a mindset where you're energized by a daunting task, a team can achieve grea things. Stuff like this will get in opponents brains and I love it.

The important thing to remember is that even the best, smartest NFL coach is liable to be incredibly stupid at the drop of a hat for no discernible reason

While most of us aren't rooting for players to get hurt, injuries are part of the game. #billsmafia how are we feeling about going into the next two weeks knowing the Pats will be missing AJ Brown and the Rams will be without Myles Garrett (and maybe Puka)? The Pats offense has looked ROUGH

The Sabres cap is looking so good right now. Jarmo is continuing KA's work locking up core players on reasonable long term deals, with most guys locked up through 2030. When cap goes up as expected over the next 3 years, they should be in GREAT shape.

Norris $7.95m til '30 Benson $7.5m til '31 Tage $7.14m til '30 McLeod $5m til '29 Krebs $4.5m til '30 Malenstyn $2.9m til '31 Ostlund $6.6m til '31 Dahlin $11m til '31 Power $8.35m til '31 Samulsson $4.29m til '30 Zellweger $3.1m til '29 UPL $4.75m til '29

Most are good deals now, and will look like absolute steals in 2 years. Do they have ANY terrible deals right now? (other than the Skinner buy out-$6.4m this year, but drops to $2.4m next year, less than 2% of cap space going forward.) Their numbers are looking SOLID

Your second-year first round pick (Hairston) both starting the preseason finale and whiffing on a tackle resulting in a TD has to be alarm bells. Will not be surprised in the slightest if Igbinosun starts opposite Benford as CB2 in Houston. It ain't show friends, it's show business. ##BillsMafia

Went to open practice today. Overall, very nice. Seating is steep which brings the upper levels much closer to the field. The stair rail obstructions are real, but not egregious, and the open concourses allow a good view the field from just about anywhere.

Entry was amazingly smooth, barely a line even at peak. Food options were surprisingly confusing- swipe your card to access a gate, then everything you buy is tracked by camera. Cool once you figure it out, but signage was not sufficient to make it clear without asking 2 seperate employees.

The Buffalo herd out front looks good, probably better at night. Bonus- check out the view of the Buffalo skyline from the top concourse. I hadn't heard anything about it, but on a nice day it was beautiful. Literally heard multiple exclamations of people walking by in the few minutes I was there.

The Sabres have historically done very well in trades with the Blackhawks. Stephane Beuregard and a 4th for the best goalie of all time. Grosek for Gilmour and JP Dumont. Honorable mention for Nylander for Jokiharju. Add this one to the list!

🚨 NEW for #THW 🚨 It has been a day, and the draft is still 72 hours away. Bowen Byram is the latest trade. Incomprehensible asset management by the Blackhawks and an absolute home run for the Sabres. Trade grades ⬇️ thehockeywriters.com/grading-the-...

thehockeywriters.comGrading the Blackhawks' Shocking Trade for Bowen Byram - The Hockey Writers Chicago Blackhawks Latest News, Analysis & MoreThe Chicago Blackhawks gave up a ton to acquire Bowen Byram, but they're almost surely to regret it down the road.

Assuming this is the trade, I could hardly love it more. We suddenly have the 4th, 20th and 45th picks. That’s enough trade capital with some sweeteners to land a big piece.

I am utterly mystified as to why Chicago would give up #4 and #45 and the contract of a real-life human man for these players. What is Davidson thinking.

How do voters land on the MVP, Vezina winner, and coach of the year all on the same team that fell short of expectations in both the regular season AND the playoffs?? Make it Make sense NHL
