Had my monthly movie club meetup last night, and it was my turn to pick the flick. We watched Local Hero (1983), a movie that I love for a dozen reasons, but I focused on the characterization this time around. boxd.it/gootCP

boxd.itA ★★★★½ review of Local Hero (1983)I picked this for my movie club this month, and I loved it more on my second viewing. So I was more than a little crestfallen when several members of the group were disappointed with it based on bad e...

it’s actually so easy to treat working people with dignity. The amount of times I’m on the phone with someone and I can hear them trying to get ahead of a potential outburst or tantrum by apologizing for delays breaks my heart.

Even if it’s not totally true before you say it, sometimes saying something can make it true, the same way the act of smiling can induce happiness. Maybe you are annoyed that it’s taking so long and have other urgent tasks waiting. Try saying “I just appreciate your help, however long it takes.”

There are people who try to weaponize kindness in situations like this, to get things to go in their favor. That’s not what I’m talking about here. I’m talking about taking small opportunities to make another human being’s load a tiny bit lighter. Just basic-ass, no reward now or later kindness.

skateboarding updates no one asked for: I did a frontside 180 today where I was fully in the air before I started rotating and it felt insanely good. Going to be chasing that high for a bit. Also, got my first ever nollie off the ground. It was scuffed and awful but nevertheless in the air!

Procreate confirms it has NO plans to add generative AI features to its apps. The company continues to stand firmly against integrating generative AI into its creative tools.

I tried to draw Pete Martell from Twin Peaks last night. Quite dissatisfied with the likeness but happy with some of the mark making. Time well spent. :)

Works been irritating this week and I’m extra pissy about it because my boys are on spring break and I’ve barely seen them. all I can think about is if there’s a fucking nuclear apocalypse, I’m gonna feel dumb as hell that I spent my final days eating shit to pay my bills instead of loving my babies

Found a little time to work on this again tonight. Really enjoying keeping everything on one layer and just piling on color.

haven’t had a great deal of inspiration lately but I’ve been doing a lot of scribbling and mark making, aimlessly layering textures. this one ended up referencing a band I love called saturdays at your place

"master plan" = ethnic cleansing: Bovino said he had a master plan that was in motion before his exile back to El Centro. It would have neutralized protesters, he said, and made it possible to deport 100 million people. That is a goal that the DHS has widely promoted www.nytimes.com/2026/03/24/u...
