I guess I've just not cultivated the soap opera watcher mentality yet! I don't even have a sofa and a bowl of ice cream to watch with. but at least now I understand the assignment after the past rollercoaster of a couple of episodes

I check my stats on FA from time to time and it really does feel like what I upload tops out at about 300-400 views maximum no matter what I do. Not sure if it's because I do niche content, or if it's a symptom of furry sites cratering in entanglement overall, but it sure is discouraging...

Am I gonna stop posting to FA over this? Well, no, I already committed. But even if I'm not doing this for fame or money it's hard to muster up enthusiasm when it feels like what I post isn't noticed on there.

endless gratitude for my friends who have been commissioning me btw, you guys are the best. I just genuinely worry a bit because I don't want to just rely on close friends for occasional commissions but it feels like if I posted to FA I would get crickets in response.

I actually feel like I get more attention when I share stuff in discord groups, as ridiculously fleeting as it is. People actually comment on there!! With the recent garde pic I even had a few random DMs from strangers come in saying how much they liked it...

Think it's also a complete lack of media literacy. Out of all of HB so far this is actually the one time they really clearly set up the reasons for the miscommunication beforehand so it's super easy to understand! Stolas isn't blameless but Blitz is getting ahead of himself with his own expectations

someone on the subreddit said it was almost like the ross and Rachel "we were on a break" moment from friends and I'm not familiar with the show but it seems like a reasonable comparison to me (and I wouldn't be surprised if viv was familiar enough with it to use it as inspiration).

anyway the most amazing thing about ep 3 was that THEY KNEW they were leaving out the context of emo Stolas when they put him in the trailer like that LMFAO and the worst thing was that the ending completely stole the spotlight from Feral Millie, who deserved to be the meme.

not gonna write a thesis on this (unless folks ask) but maybe it's also that kids gotta have their conflicts be purely black and white with a villain to blame. Messy situations like this aren't easy to digest.

Cartoon networks kill switch being a hack the planet style leak to all the online animators is the most punk rock shit to happen in a decade. Legendary shit.

it's fascinating how I completely avoided having any art stolen just by not posting to FA for nearly a decade, and yet two months after uploading a particular picture on there I saw someone posting a picture that was referencing it nearly 1:1... except with one important part being much smaller. :/

on two occasions in the past I have asked an artist to re-use a pose they did for someone else in one of my own commissions because I really liked it. I think that sort of thing is fair. it's also fair to give someone an unrelated picture and say, "do a pose like this please"

buuuut what's not really fair is this level of copying. It's one step short of tracing but still kinda a bit much. I would call this plagiarism I think. Can I really do anything about it? No. But at least I can complain aloud, get it off my chest and move on, haha.

It wasn't tracing, I think - well, except for the boobs and belly, perhaps, but the rest of it was at least changed up enough that it wasn't obvious tracing. The pose and everything else were exactly similar, though, and the boobs and belly *were* pretty much a direct copy.

anyway I'm not especially mad or anything, but I AM mildly amused that this seems to prove what I'd quietly believed for awhile about avoiding any art theft (on f-list, with one hilarious exception, or elsewhere) due to not posting on the most popular and obvious site for furry stuff. Ah well!

There is one discord server I'm in and I don't know what it is about it in particular but it's the source of 95% of my discord block/ignore list. Seriously. Just added another name to it because two dipshit hot takes about gaming are too many, and I'm thinking of adding one more!

By the actual raw numbers that I can see in the user count, I believe only 2% of this discord is actually active and posts semi-regularly in the various chatrooms. And I've blocked or ignored nearly a third of them! It's crazy.

I ordered a *very expensive* copy of the art of spyro off ebay and although USPS marked it as delivered earlier today it's nowhere to be found in the apartment mailroom... =_=
