I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

It turns out that choosing the lesser of two evils is, in fact, a moral imperative. And some folks want to wait for the Revolutionary Perfect, but I would equally challenge them to demonstrate a single time where a 'start from nothing, year-0' revolution has turned out well for most people.

That it'll fail because they lack sufficient consolidation and centralized control does not make it trivial that the president of the United States is trying to steal elections and produce an illegitimate sham Congress. It is open rebellion against the Constitution and morally tantamount to treason.

Multiple things are true here. This is a fascist, authoritarian administration. It has not yet fully consolidated power. Some of its efforts to do so have been frustrated. Trump is a doddering, confused egomaniac who started an unpopular war that's costing everyday people a lot of money.

The President of the United States is a lunatic. Worse, people who are not lunatics refuse to do anything about it. Worse still, way too many press people are pretending he's not a lunatic.

There's a big difference between withholding your vote from certain Dems and advocating for not voting unless a candidate is perfect. And, let me also say: If you do decide to withhold a vote for a Dem, go out and vote. Leave that race blank, but vote otherwise.

Everything is—or should be-about stopping fascism and showing Democratic voters (base as well as swing voters) why they should continue to show up for Dems every November. Every factional beef can and should go on ice during general elections. Even if YOUR faction is the one that lost the primary.

Trump continues to disperse disaster recovery funds based on how states vote, which for any other president or public official, in any other time, in any other country, in any other context would be a morally horrific scandal that would dominate headlines for months.

Really important thread. All the progress in a few generations makes it hard to imagine how recently so many of these rights were won. Importantly, too, the gains were unevenly distributed, which is why intersectionality and justice (vs rights) frameworks are so important. And the fight continues.
