The little tongue out as it fake-dies is hilarious!

Hognose snakes are known for their dramatic ability to feign death, which makes predators less interested, but they're very committed to the bit. In the wild, they mostly eat toads & other amphibians. Honestly, we need an Oscar category for "Best Performance by a Snake".

It’s been so hot, a lizard came instead our house to cool off. He has now been staying with us for three days. He has made himself at home and no one has been able to catch him.

I do not think we should have a death penalty. I don't think it is any kind of deterrent. I think it's barbaric. I think it makes us all worse people. All of us. And we just don't have to do this to ourselves. We could abolish it, and we should.

This fucking guy

Nurses are celebrating @governor.ca.gov signing our landmark A.I. bill, AB 1979, into law! But refusing to also sign AB 2575 fails us. Nurses must have the protection to use our clinical judgement to override unsafe A.I. bit.ly/3TbRtPm

This is so bizarre to me. Maybe because I work in a profession that runs on coffee?

Kai Ryssdal@kairyssdal.bsky.social

I’m sorry, but if you bring an iced coffee - or any damn beverage at all - to a job interview, you’re disqualified. It’s not hard, people.

Because of my work, I was eligible and received the Covid vaccine the first week they were available. I have received many doses since. I’m getting a booster today!

Happy Labor Day!

California Nurses Association@calnurses.bsky.social

Billionaires and millionaires did not give us the right to organize, the 8‑hour work day, a 40‑hour work week, child labor laws, or a minimum wage. Workers did that! This Labor Day, we honor the victories that built our country and the fights that are still being waged. ✊

What kind of monster does this to a grieving mother? I hope the Mississippi BRN see this complaint for what it is and acts accordingly.

Christine Wells Wonsley, the mother of Nolan Wells, has learned that the Mississippi Board of Nursing opened a professional misconduct investigation against her following an anonymous complaint, the family’s lawyer said. www.mississippifreepress.org/nolan-wells-...

“AI should be a tool used in conjunction with the clinical expert, not to replace,” she said. “We’re not against technology. There are several advances in healthcare utilizing technology. The issue is with new tech without evidence.”

I spoke with a nurse who has worked at a Bronx Hospital for 39 years and is now being laid off, along with 11 other nurses, to be replaced by AI. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Adding insult to injury. I’ve been working hard deleting and blocking political text messages without it slowing them down. Now I’m going have to get AI written ones?! Also, I never want to hear or read the term “AI employee” on account of computer programs aren’t people.

Taught to sound like a candidate, bots are engaging voters with personalized text messages making AI-generated texting conversations the latest tool political campaigns are using to connect.

I found a kimchi ketchup at grocery outlet that I’m obsessed with. I’ve never put ketchup on so many things before. I stocked up but I’m going to have to go hunting for where else I can buy it now that my GO ran out.

You absolutely do not gotta hand it to a panel of corrupt judges for *barely* upholding a clearly written part of the constitution.

Anyone who says these positions - which merely recognize the basic humanity of other people - are extreme positions is saying that there’s some people they’d like to kill, preferably at a distance, by paperwork and someone not making a living wage.
