This honestly puts a lot of other games into perspective. I immediately thought about Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which was released in 2020, and Spider-Man 2, which was developed during Covid-19. SM2 felt like extra long DLC Instead of its own standalone game.

your expertise on modern pokemon game development kinda falls flat IMO if you can’t make the connection between the only very buggy game nintendo has had to apologize for in recent memory (if at all) releasing and being developed during covid-19

Such a shame how this game was turned into a money machine rather than a real competitor to LoL. I played this when it first came out and I had so much fun with it. I stopped because I just didn't have as much time for it anymore. Sad to see it never got better after the day of it's release.

This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.

Not that my hopes were high after Veilguard but after seeing this, I want to scream lmao This looks so good.

One day after EA shut down BioWare, a trailer has begun circulating for what some claim was supposed to be Mass Effect 5, a game called Mass Effect: Universe starring Liara T'Soni and a new protagonist. https://kotaku.com/mass-effect-5-universe-leaked-trailer-liara-bioware-2000748858

I can't say I didn't see this coming since the team at BioWare got insanely kneecapped prior to Veiguard's release and the lack of updates for the now-cancelled Mass Effect game, but goddamn.

As a one person game maker: AI can eat shit. There's SO MUCH ROYALTY FREE STUFF OUT THERE. Or people who really awesome and do things because they believe in you, or for small dollars because we all love creativity. "I'm just one guy" so was the dude that made Stardew "I'm just one guy" is BS

BatsCaulder (They/He)@mattcaulder.com

I'm going to be honest, this is literally pathetic. "I'm just one guy and I'm not a big studio so I HAD to use the CSAM tools to make my passion project, there's literally no other way to do it as a single person" I cannot imagine admitting to being this inept on such a scale like this.

Presidents Park opened in Virginia in 2004, but went under only a few years later in 2010. The 20-foot tall busts of US presidents that were the park's main attraction were moved to a rural field, where they were left to decay. More at www.abandonedamerica.us/the-presiden...

Everything I've seen about this movie just sucks ass. They do genuinely do not give a shit about their fan base.

I thought this was a joke at first but it looks to be real and man they really couldn't give less of a shit about anyone who still watches the MCU; they're so blatantly like yeah "yeah those fuckers will come watch it anyways who cares" 💀

I don't have a dog in this fight. I have been long divorced from anything Marvel. But it's so sad and disappointing to see what is happening now compared to what was happening then. The 2009 version of myself would be flabbergasted.

I remember a time when a lot of the merch was so cool, I bent over backwards to get anything Iron Man-related. And now it's just them digging into a trash can full of nostalgia and hoping that rose colored glasses will save them.

The reason why the Dune movies are such good adaptations is because it includes the original themes but with changes that only enhance those themes. For example, the changes to Chani’s character make Paul’s decisions all the more gut wrenching and awful.

Seeing the discourse around Mike Flanagan’s Carrie has been interesting, especially since the themes in the book are so clearly laid out. I have no dog in this fight, as I’m not a fan of anything Mike Flanagan has done (his flavor of direction is not for me.)

It really does seem that Mike Flanagan is doing interpretations of King’s work, not adaptations. Which is whatever, good for him. But sucks because I feel that Carrie is very thematically relevant and if he did indeed throw that all away, then that‘s a huge bummer.

Gonna save y’all 2-3 hours a few years from now and suggest that you either play the game or find a let’s player or streamer you enjoy and watch them play it.

I do wish more games would let players fail immediately and learn it is not the end of the world, rather than putting up successively clunky guardrails to prevent failure at all I think often of dying in my first 2 minutes of playing Disco Elysium and instantly knowing the game would be great

My disappointment with Jacob Geller is certainly only getting stronger when this is the way he's acting after the reveal of his college sexual assault case. Already unsubbed from him everywhere but glad he's gone from Nebula especially since that's something I actually pay for

Waited a whole weekend to see if Jacob Gellar would address his very shitty past transgressions and have been super disappointed in his handling of it all. Centering himself in the apology is already not a great start, but posting the apology on only one social platform is egregiously terrible.

I am aware that BlueSky is the least popular platform among most social media personalities. You're actively hiding it, man. In your apology, you say you've grown. This only highlights how much of a coward you are.

There's not much else to say that hasn't been said. I'm just woefully disappointed. People liken sexual assault to one very shitty decision, when, in fact, sexual assault is a bunch of shitty decisions leading up to the penultimate shitty decision that ruins a life for an indefinite amount of time.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

Right now, I think one of BlueSky's weakest features is showing me posts from my followers in the "Discover" tab. They have been discovered, that's why I follow them. Show me other people I don't know, pls.

When I stopped streaming, I stopped in the middle of Alan Wake 2. And boy, I couldn't stop thinking about that game. Which worked out in the end because further research into the Alan Wake Universe led me to play Control first, then Alan Wake 2.

All that being said, I won't continue Alan Wake 2 on stream. Instead, I will be playing through it again from the beginning on my own now that I have a little more context for the shared universe being established. Will report back once I finish that one.

I finished Control last night, and now I can't stop thinking about that. Games made by Remedy Entertainment really scratch an itch I didn't know I had. It's the right amount of quirk that very few games actually achieve in a successful way.
