A Minnesota prosecutor charges conservative influencers James O’Keefe and Cam Higby with felony counts of unlawful voting and identity theft after they misrepresented themselves at polling places using the names of registered voters.
Inbox: Trump officials file their arguments as a federal judge weighs whether to halt Triumphal Arch.
Several senior officials argue that Trump's planned arch is essential for national security.
PETE HEGSETH: "The Arch is a generational national defense opportunity."
Russia is giving Trump-friendly media figures a tour of Oleshky, Ukraine, the site of a cease-fire reportedly brokered by Melania Trump—but what they’ll see almost certainly won’t be the truth, Zarina Zabrisky reports.
“Trump officials had known I was trans,” Julia Curlee writes of her time as an intelligence official staffed to the White House. “This hadn’t been an issue until it was public—and then nothing else I’d done mattered.”
When Julia Curlee was in the CIA, she was guided by the motto “Service before politics. Country before self.”
The Trump White House needed her—until her gender identity became public. On Radio Atlantic, she tells her story to Adam Harris: theatln.tc/aP7x2DgM
Susan Collins pulls into town in a bus full of her supporters; then they all get off the bus; and then she addresses the folks who were on the bus with her as if they were regular Mainers; and legacy media covers this, pretending it isn't deeply bizarre. (Notice the guys with cameras.) #MEpolitics
DOGE promised savings. Instead: a hobbled IRS, a dismantled USAID, and a shuttered consumer watchdog that at one time returned $26b to Americans. One estimate: IRS layoffs will cost $600b in lost revenues over 10 years. @michaelmechanic.bsky.social does the math:

I generally don't like cross-posting from Twitter, but
Mike Young absolutely nails how the US wound up with a resurgence of the flesh-eating screwworm decades after it had been eliminated.
New USDA data released today: H.R. 1 enacted the deepest SNAP cuts in history last July. By January, more than 3 million fewer people were receiving food assistance. Nationwide, SNAP caseloads fell by more than 8% in just 6 months — despite no improvement in economic conditions.
ICE has violated almost 100 court orders.
Let me say that another way. 100 times ICE was caught brazenly ignoring the law. 100 times a court told them to immediately stop. And 100 times they ignored the order.
That's an out-of-control agency that shouldn't get another dime.
Turns Out The DOGE Bros Who Killed Humanities Grants Are Kinda Sensitive About It
Much of last week I had been working on a different article than the one this became. The American Historical Association, the Modern Language Association, and the American Council of Learned Societies — all…
A DOGE staffer assigned to the National Endowment for the Humanities to flag grants for "DEI" tries to explain what "DEI" is. This deposition is part of a lawsuit by the @acls1919.bsky.social, @historians.org and @modernlanguage.bsky.social.
Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
I just submitted my letter to NSF responding to its proposal to dismantle the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). I argue that doing so would be an astonishing and avoidable misstep, and that federal support for the institution should in fact be *increased.* [1/4]
The girls’ school in Iran, where 165 people were killed by an apparent US-Israeli attack, was hit with two strikes, with the second missile killing sheltering survivors, two first responders and the parent of a slain child have told Middle East Eye.
"A stable, law-abiding Iran will help build a stable, law-abiding Middle East. But in order to achieve that, Iran needs not a new dictatorship but self-determination and a pluralist government that respects basic rights. Right now, the Trump administration is not trying to build one."
The fate of the Iranian people has never been of great concern to American administrations, and this one is no exception

Bloomberg says we've spent $3B on Trump's invasion of Venezuela.
Which is 6X more than the cancer, Alzheimer, diabetes, and heart disease cures they've cut to pay for it.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will launch their Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour across the country this spring, kicking off at Minneapolis’ Target Center on March 31. The 20-date run will feature 19 arena shows, and a final night on May 27 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
The horror stories rolling in from Minnesota are just the tip of the iceberg. This 20-year-old, who's lawfully present in the country, was arrested for being Latino, then jailed in a filthy cell where he couldn't even sit down. 18 days of illegal detention. democracyforward.org/wp-content/u...
An 18-Million-Subscriber YouTuber Just Explained Section 230 Better Than Every Politician In Washington
Over the years, we've written approximately one million words explaining why Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act is essential to how the internet functions. We've corrected politicians…
Here is my conclusion after sitting through Maxwell's deposition with her refusing to answer a single question about the men who raped underage girls, saying she would only do so for clemency.
She must immediately be sent back to the maximum security prison where she belongs.
Two-thirds of Americans believe Trump has "gone too far" with ICE. The cruelty & extremism is out of control.
Our new ad features Joe Rogan asking "Are we really going to be the Gestapo?...Is that what we've come to?"

“We had the best writers in the country and did more with less, and we knew it with a swagger.” Sally Jenkins pays tribute to The Washington Post’s Sports section:
Trump is denying that a deal between his family’s crypto firm and a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family is a conflict of interest—and in doing so, he’s challenging the idea that such a conflict is even possible for a president, Jonathan Chait argues.
