Some of this is psychological because people wanted to believe that Trump could “fix everything” on “day one”. And when it became obvious this was just another lie they got angry and dark. At trump for lying. At themselves for believing a pathological liar.

It’s because they know that Trump’s decision making isn’t going to improve wrt the economy. That’s why they are pessimistic. It’s just a question of understanding the likely outcomes. Wars, pandemics, all might change. Trump is going to Trump.
