Been really inspired by this premise and started writing notes for it. Need to put together a writers room and pitch it to someone I guess.

The appearance of Yor, a displaced Starfleet officer from the TNG era of the Kelvin timeline, in the third season of Star Trek Discovery really got me thinking of the potential of a series set in that era of that timeline.

Just an idea that I think has potential, I'm kind of done with new spins on the TOS era but I'd be okay with new spins on the TNG era and setting it in the Kelvin timeline would give the writers a creative blank slate to tackle those characters and situations in a new way.

This show would be about the Enterprise D with generally the same main cast, but backstories and personalities can be different to varying degrees. Maybe relations with the Klingons are different so Worf is there but not an officer (and not a jobber).

The TNG/DS9/VOY era of the prime timeline is at this point fully tapped out but I think there is merit in revisiting some of that material and maybe putting a new spin on it and I think the Kelvin timeline would be the perfect place to do that without having to worry about fitting into Prime canon.

You could flesh out the Conspiracy aliens plot, you could revisit the Cardassians and Dominion, you could do a full reset on the Borg to make them a genuine threat again. You could take those characters and put them in new scenarios that you just can't do now since everyone involved is old.

That leaked, unfinished Iron Man trailer looks really good but which Marvel games are cancelled and which ones are still happening has gotten confusing

The decrepit zombie corpse of the previously defeated villain is seeking their unknowing grandchild to become the conduit for galactic domination. Season 3 of Star Trek Picard is just the plot of Rise of Skywalker but with somehow even more shameless nostalgia pandering (pretty good TV tho).

WB did that really terrible AI ad for End of Oak Street so now when it underperforms people will dance on the grave and celebrate thinking it was because of the backlash to the ad when it was going to underperform anyway

I wonder if after the test screening WB wanted to give The Great Beyond its own IMAX exclusivity window and a 70mm release, and the easiest way to do that was to give it Batman's, which meant pushing Batman back so it could also still have its own IMAX exclusivity window.

If I had a nickel for every recent movie starring Ryan Gosling where he gives a lot of thumbs ups that also has a scene where the main female lead does karaoke, etc

If the Mando reviews go how it's looking they might, LFL should really get a Starfighter teaser out just to say 'please don't write this franchise off, the real movie is still coming, promise'

Would have been cool if Dial of Destiny ended with Indy making the choice at the end to stop being obsessed with the past and focus on his future instead of that choice being made for him by someone else, making his return to the present/reunion with Marion feel completely flat and unearned.

Now that I have children I'm excited for them to be old enough to show them the entire Skywalker Saga. All 6 movies. I'll throw in Rogue One and Andor too.

Excited to be in a house so I can hang up posters for the entire Skywalker Saga. All 6 movies.

Saw someone on TikTok saying 'Daisy Ridley is actually a great actress, the sequels just did her a disservice by being bad' and had a strong feeling of deja vu. So we're currently at that stage of the Star Wars trilogy redemption cycle.

The thing I'm looking forward to most about Hunt for Gollum is the hindsight redemption tour it will bring about for the Star Wars sequel trilogy as we realize truly how much worse that could have been.

My wife and brother in law were watching Free Guy when I got home from work and it was a nice reminder that damn I like that movie a lot. Shawn Levy you son of a bitch.

A lot of parallels between Pluribus and Sinners. Both are about a hive mind representing colonialism that promises peace but eliminates individuality and culture

Just realized Primate is the director of 47 Meters Down and Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City lol No wonder people are making John Carpenter comparisons, Welcome to Raccoon City had Carpenter vibes too

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up. I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Look, I'm not one to quickly believe in conspiracy theories about us attacking Venezuela on a made up provocation to distract from the Epstein files, but the timing of all this is not helping me convince myself that it's not true.

Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

Exodus is scheduled for 2027, what if the next Mass Effect also comes out 2027 and we end up repeating Callisto Protocol/Dead Space Remake where they end up coming out within a couple months of each other

If only any of the plots of Jurassic World Dominion had been something cool like raptors getting trained as assassins by an extremely creepy version of Cate Blanchett from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Can't wait until I show my kids The Ring and have to explain VHS tapes and landline phones to them since that movie will be over 30 years old by the time they're old enough to watch it
