IN GRATEFUL MEMORY OF PRIVATE ELLIOT R. CORBETT II "HE STANDS IN THE UNBROKEN LINE OF PATRIOTS WHO HAVE DARED TO DIE THAT FREEDOM MIGHT LIVE AND GROW AND INCREASE IT BLESSINGS. FREEDOM LIVES AND THROUGH IT HE LIVES IN A WAY THAT HUMBLES THE UNDERTAKINGS OF MOST MEN.”— FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT

If you’re attending the White House Correspondents Association dinner tonight, be sure to come prepared with a joke about the toddler cancer patient they just disappeared despite her being a citizen. Otherwise it’s going to be awkward when you’re mugging for photos with Stephen Miller.

Americans oppose deporting and imprisoning immigrants without criminal convictions by a 61–26% margin, per YouGov. Trump and the Republicans have badly misread the moment. Democrats were right to make this an issue because we're taking Trump's last strength away from him.

RFK Jr. claimed to be for transparency. Not so much, it seems.

CREW@citizensforethics.org

CREW sued the CDC for—under RFK Jr.'s leadership—unlawfully closing its entire FOIA office, essentially leaving the public in the dark. Americans must have transparency into the CDC’s operations.

So… I guess my question is, if you know the bill is a voter suppression bill and you don’t think it will pass the Senate, why in hell would you vote for this? Lobbiest pressure? MAGA voters back home? Grow a spine because Democrats are who elected you, @gluesenkampperez.house.gov

Easy to use, send messages to the Senate. The un-democratic House already passed the voter suppression SAVE Act.

Good morning. Today is the 80th day that the U.S. President is running a backdoor bribery scheme in which any CEO or foreign oligarch can send him money secretly through his crypto coin scam in exchange for favors. It's the biggest scandal in the history of the Presidency.

resist.botVote NO: The SAVE Act Is Voter SuppressionText SIGN PTVCBT to 50409 — Let’s be clear: the so-called Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act isn’t about securing our elections—it’s about suppressing voters. If you vote for it, you’re not defending democracy. You’re helping dismantle it. The SAVE Act is a direct assault on millions of eligible Americans. It would force voters to show documentary proof of citizenship—like a passport or birth certificate—every time they register or update their registration. These documents are costly, difficult to access, and not required in most states today. Seniors, people with disabilities, rural residents, and low-income Americans would be among the first silenced. Married women whose names no longer match their birth certificates? Blocked. Trans and nonbinary Americans whose IDs don’t align with outdated documents? Targeted. Communities of color already facing systemic barriers? Further marginalized. These aren’t unintended consequences—they are the goal. This bill would gut mail-in and online voter registration, end automatic registration efforts, and crush voter registration drives—especially in underserved communities. It would allow voter purges without notice and even threaten election workers with prison time for registering citizens who lack the exact documentation. The SAVE Act is nothing short of an orchestrated attack on the right that protects all others: the right to vote. It weaponizes bureaucracy to erase voters from the process. If passed, it will shrink the electorate, deepen inequality, and undermine the integrity of our elections. If you believe in an inclusive democracy—one that doesn’t punish people for their ZIP code, income level, name, gender, or race—then you must vote NO on the SAVE Act. Stand on the right side of history. Reject this disgraceful attempt to silence the people.

Ben Casselman, NYT Forecasters at J.P. Morgan expect U.S. economy to contract 0.3 percent this year (they had previously expected 1.3% growth) and unemployment rate to rise to 5.3% — a “stagflationary forecast” that they say “would present a dilemma for Fed policymakers.” Good morning, America!

Dow Futures Market opening today 1500 pts DOWN. Tomorrow should be another doozy. And the clown 🤡 king has not renegotiated one single trade deal. Bet the insiders at the dinner last night are waiting to jump back into the markets, though. 🤬

Reminder that 'savvy' political fact checkers spent the entire campaign telling voters that Trump was not going to do the things he obviously was going to do.

BREAKING: Trump's billionaire Commerce Secretary says that seniors won't care if they don't get their Social Security checks — and that anyone who does complain is a fraudster.

CoreCivic and GEO Group receive government funding based on the number of people they detain, and why they lobby for stricter immigration policies. It’s a lucrative business: CoreCivic made over $560m from Ice contracts in a single year. In 2024, GEO Group made more than $763m from Ice contracts.

theguardian.comI’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnappedI was stuck in a freezing cell without explanation despite eventually having lawyers and media attention. Yet, compared with others, I was lucky

*Totally* unredacted JFK files revealed no new evidence… Oh, WAIT! Yes, now we know the Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and birthplace of thousands (still alive, BTW) of people who worked on the cases. Now an already stressed SSA is issuing new numbers to people aged 70+. Idiots!
