Well said, Theresa. Vance says hosting international scientists is undercutting American researchers. But the opposite is true. Every step of my scientific career, as an American, relied on the support and collaboration of visa holders. Adding reminders about related policies below

The House is matching the Senate in temporarily blocking the OMB rewrite of the Uniform Guidance that would politicize grants (Vought said he doesn’t plan to implement the policy until December, so a ban until Dec. 11 does little to delay his plans): www.statnews.com/2026/09/01/s...

Every other country's families & govts invest to feed, nurture, & educate their kids for 18 years. Then, we pick the best and brightest for free & we run them thru an intense acculturation & eval process. Then, we pick the best & brightest of those to work & tax. Amazing deal. Being wrecked.

The president is refusing to spend taxpayer money assisting Americans suffering from natural disasters solely because their states didn't vote for him. I know there are a thousand scandals at the moment, but this one deserves some more oxygen at every level.

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social

Is this just business as usual in politics? No. Approval rates of federal disaster aid requests were about the same regardless of the state and did not vary much with the party of the President. This graph powerfully conveys the scale of the partisan discrimination now.

This continues the administration's war on DEI. AHRQ is required by Congress to study health delivery to minorities, women, children, and low-income and elderly populations. Exactly these grants are being killed. The best predictor of termination is having "equity" in a title or abstract. 🧪 #AHRQ

For these grant recipients, terminations came after months - in some cases over a year - of silence. #AHRQ simply failed to renew annual budgets and left researchers hanging. Some are still waiting. Now years of research in healthcare effectiveness are cut off. grant-witness.us/posts/2026-0... 🧪

AHRQ exists to find ways to deliver better, lower cost healthcare. Trump’s gutting it. Earlier today, we posted what we believe is a complete list of AHRQ terminations from last week. ⤵️ If you have more info, please submit it here: grant-witness.us/submit-nih-a...

Last week's terminations at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) total at least 150 grants worth $230M. That is over half of the agency's portfolio. It's the latest assault on healthcare, health equity, and the rule of law. grant-witness.us/posts/2026-0... #AHRQ 🧪
