Spent the morning with Eric at @MothLaneBrewing on #PrinceEdwardIsland - It's harvest season for #PEI#Potatoes! :-) #SelfiesWithStrangers - Thanks for the spot to overnight! #vanlife @dirtynerdynomads
Autodesk has relied on buying up competition and squeezing out every drop of profitability. Not innovating, not improving. Now a vibe coded fusion clone has surfaced (something I'd been being asked to create). Fire management. Fire the lawyers. Cut c-suite pay. Hire devs. #adsk#aihatesoligarchs
I've been working on something about using ai with an old-is-new-again software engineering method - it's drafted, but I have to refocus on it to get it rolled out - it's about how indie devs can leverage AI tools and use real engineering practices (TDD, SDD, etc.) to stop ai from producing slop.
Adobe's unwillingness to listen to their customers and forcing unwelcome licensing terms and features on us, is a chicken that's coming home to roost. The ai-coded repo is incredibly active.
This is exactly the example of what I mean when I say AI can be a democratizer.

Great film to see after visiting Cape Breton. Well, great film to see, regardless - surprisingly well done and well written :-)
Having a better understanding of the real hardships and having just seen many of these locations in person, though, very cool

It appears Russia's Yandex won't be able to fully repair their destroyed data centers until 2028. Good. It's rather clear how much awful was emanating from those Russian data centers and the world is a better place without them. Thank you, Ukraine.
so... the russian data center... could it be that maga itself and the nazification of the conservative party over the last 5 decades has just been a long, slow, methodical KGB op?
the plot does sound very dark "russian literary esthetic."
#TheGolovlyovFamily#QuelleSuprise
[In terms of] slow, dark betrayal and plotting, the Russian literary aesthetic shifts into a masterclass of psychological warfare, creeping paranoia, and the inevitable rot of the soul. Betrayal is rarely a sudden twist; it is a meticulous, agonizing descent..."
Good Morning World, how you doing? A woman who worked at a Biohazard Plague Research institute in Siberia died after a suspected laboratory accident. Authorities in Russia are investigating whether a dangerous infection may have been released. Fear not, we have RFK Jr investigating this. π³
i love how I can get focused on a project to the point that I don't mess with my fun toys for a few months... and then when I pick them back up, it's like starting from the beginning all over again... #unreal, #blender, #procreate, #nomad... #groundhogday

Jack Smith's pokerface when he puts it together that schitt doesn't know the difference between the hawkeyes and the hawks - and lets schmitt continue rather than correcting him - just feeds him more concrete details without the word, "hawkeyes"... haha - priceless.

When that orange asshole finally leaves the WH, and he WILL be leaving, the American people need to sue him and the rest of his criminal syndicate of a so-called family, for every fucking dime they stole from us.
Every. Fucking. Dime.
Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal and his government has committed genocide in Gaza.
The United States should stop all military assistance to Israel.
Saying this is not antisemitic. (Iβm Jewish, by the way.)
"Maybe that means building things that are smaller and closer and less visible to everyone."
I was just discussing how with ai, it's relatively easy to code up a small chat or social app just for you, your friends, and family - encrypted, free, no algorithm, secure, and private. An oligarch killer
It's great to see economist @justinwolfers.bsky.social making the case that AI has given new urgency to the case for universal basic income, calling it "a payment society is owed rather than a form of redistribution."
ALL of us trained those AI models. It's OUR work and OUR data being fed to them.
HAPPY EQUINOX!!
We moved into the van and started south on Dec 21 -- the winter solstice. Today is the fall equinox, so we've been through 3 full seasons, and travelled in 3 countries, 1 mexican state, 18 US states, and 4 Canadian provinces - and it feels like we're just getting started.

Canada exports more potash to the US than Belarus sells to *everyone* in a year..
Canada sells 12 million tons of potash to the US, Belarus only exports 11mil tons a year total.
